The costumes I remember are being Little Bo Peep, the Tooth Fairy, a Witch, a female Devil, Washu from Tenchi Muyo... Carrie from Carrie... a random witch... that's the last costume I remember.

I remember my mom REALLY wanted me to be a princess when I was 6, but I hated dresses, so we settled for "robin hood princess,' in which I was basically robin hood with a tiara.

One year my mom worked very hard on a princess costume, and i mean hours, cutting and sewing and gluing. She even stayed up all night the night before Halloween finishing it up... but I started not to feel good. And come Halloween I was running a fever too high to go trick or treating. She was so sad, and I'll always remember being sad because she was sad. :( I wore it once so she could take photos between wiping my nose, and never wore it again because at age 4, you grow very fast from one year to the next. She never made a big deal about Halloween costumes ever again.

I've had a witch costume, a medieval dress sort of costume, and I made myself a cloak and tunic one year, but I thought the coolest one was a homemade full-body Care Bear costume when I was very little. That was a gift from a friend of the family after their kids outgrew it.
When I started cosplaying I used my Final Fantasy White Mage costume for trick-or-treating one Halloween. And that was the one time that flannel dress was actually comfortable.
The very last time I went trick-or-treating, my friend and I wore Katamari cousin outfits, the big pill head and the whole deal. That was also the only time that costume was comfortable because we had plenty of space to walk without bumping into a thousand other people, unlike at cons, haha.

A lot of really big, cool costumes you see at conventions would probably be better outside like the trick-or-treating atmosphere, come to think of it.
There should be a place for that! Outside trick-or-treating for adults with huge cool costumes!

Of the ones I remember clearly, I was Nala, a spiderx2 (my mom apparently ordered the costume from somewhere, and since it was special and I didn't grow much I wore it two years in a row), Esmeralda, Sailor Moon and a bunch of other really crummy closet cosplays in like middle school, a ninja, a ninja cat, and then I started wearing my cosplay stuff...

I mostly switched it up from year to year but I do remember the Esmeralda costume the most because my parents got me the little tambourine accessory..... Thus the silent days in my house ended.

the pink power ranger and a wizard (pre-harry potter fandom days) are the two that stick out most in my mind... can't remember the others, sadly.
