part 355 fireflies flying around
Summer is winding down... I will miss it when it goes! How is your summer, meme? Any exciting summer adventures? Camping or hiking or grouping together stopping an evil entity that resides in the sewers of your small town in Maine? Do tell!
Enjoy part 355!

31 Days of Meme Halloween
It's the most wonderful time of the year! A month of ghouls and ghosts and nightmare monsters! A month of terrifying Halloween discussions, horrifying Halloween picspams, and as awlays, terrifying movie screams streams... and more!
So beware! And enjoy.
today's theme: urban legends
Back in my day, we didn't have any of these fancy-dancy 'creepy pasta' on those old computers! We had urban legends, and that's how we liked it!
Urban legends are that unique type of creepy folklore that varies from place to place--but always shares an underlying theme of something wrong happening. Whether that "something wrong" is the ghost of a vengeful mother coming out of your mirror to claw your eyes out or it's the presence of killers who hide needles inside payphones. ("What's a payphone, grandma?" Shut up, Billy.)
What are some of your favorite urban legends? Ones that scared you the most?
Are there any special twists on urban legends in your area? Or totally unique legends?

Aside: I'm also a huge nerd for Lafcadio Hearn's Kwaidan in general, as well as the film that is based on it. SO GOOD. ♥
