356 vivacious vampires

Oh vampires! Oh meme! It's October, which is officially Halloween season. And... Himaruya is back? Kind of? Sort of? In a way. I wonder if we'll ever find out what happened on Halloween. Or if it will forever remain... a mystery. Much like the decision making process behind most of these titles.

Enjoy part 356!

today's theme: your fears

What really scares you?

Have you ever had to confront your fears?

Have you ever gotten over a fear?

Most of my fears are boring.

But there is... driving. I'm going to have to confront that and get over it eventually but ugh, I wish I didn't have to.

I used to be terrified of driving, too. Something happened over the years and I love it now, and I wish I could pinpoint or explain what happened, just... good luck.

Thanks anon. I probably just need more practice, but it's difficult to force myself to practice because there's nothing I find enjoyable about it, and there's usually nowhere we need to go so I just drive around, wasting gas and spending time that I'd rather be using on something else...

Practice sounds like it should help. It can be a drag to consciously think of everything you need to think about when you're driving, because you're not used to it. I've been driving so long that it feels intuitive now, and I think that's what I find fun about it.
I wonder if that real life RPG thing can have something that will let you keep track of your driving time and 'level up's, so even if you're not driving to a destination, you're driving toward a goal, you know?

Sometimes I wish I lived in a bigger city so not being able to drive wouldn't be such a hindrance. But when you live out in the sticks!

I fear deep water, like in the ocean. If I can neither stand on nor see the bottom, I want out. Fortunately, I don't usually have to deal with it.

I used to be afraid of dogs, but I grew out of it. Probably because I literally grew and became bigger than the dogs that used to scare me.

Oops, sorry anon. I meant to reply to the main thread!

i used to be afraid of answering the telephone and it still bothers me & i dislike it but since i had a job where i had to do it, i've gotten over it a bit. actually, that job was boring as fuck so i started craving for the phone to ring so i could help someone & do something useful

let's make it relevant at least i guess, also +1 on driving kind of. i've gotten over it when it comes to driving around in my city but i'm afraid of getting on the highway. i got onto it accidentally once and almost started crying and if my brain begins contemplating driving in a big city it short circuits shortly after

+0.5?

I'm not scared of driving, but I get twitchy and agitated while driving in cities and urban areas, so I'm probably scared of that.

I'm terrified of either developing the degenerative disorder that runs in my family or dying very suddenly. I don't know which would be worse. (I don't want to find out.)

I got over my fear of the dark though!

If boring fears are okay, my fear of inadequacy keeps me up at night and wakes me up from my sleep.
So I think my worst fears are job-searching, rejection, and failure.

That, and centipedes. Fuck centipedes, they have no business having so many long legs, I don't care if they're poisonous or not. I'm not generally scared of insects but they are the fucking exception. I have to face it all the time because I kill them about once a week. Hate hate hate centipedes.

Zombies and zombie apocalypses.

Seeing shows like "Earth after Humans" or anything having to do with all people vanishing suddenly.

Having my back turned to a wide space indoors.

Thinking about how vulnerable the human eye is.

+1 to pretty much everything

THANK YOU

everybody around me seems to be flipping shit over The Walking Dead and other zombie shows and I'm just - the thought of being turned into a drooling, aimlessly wandering meat husk is petrifying to me

I'm not really scared of anything...? Spiders and bugs in general just creep me out. Weird, strange, unexplained things also creep me out.

Like I wouldn't know if there would be regret
