Re: Battle Royale - Day 3
[So far he's managed to avoid trouble]
[So far]
[Just when he thinks that, he wakes up the next morning to hear the announcement. Immediately he hurries to stuff his supplies back in the bag and get out. He makes it far enough that he doesn't get knocked off his feet by the explosion, but he does feel the earth rumble and the heat of the fire]
[Pausing to hide in one of the smaller buildings near the edge of the town, Germany goes to the top floor, spying out one of the windows to see what's going to happen]
Hi o/
[The ringing in his ears and the cough that burst out of his lungs periodically made thinking and coming to a decision more difficult than it should normally be, but he eventually does move from the spot when his legs no longer feel like jelly and the ringing has died down to a more tolerable level. He manages to catch sight of Germany just as he entered a building.]
[Remembering to keep his stealth up again, Romania is more careful when he nears the building, hiding behind steaming debris while checking the windows and holes in the building that Germany entered in to make sure the other wasn't looking out of them.]
[Romania glanced south, seeing the woods and no more buildings. He stared for a bit, then turned to look at the building where Germany was.]
[After a bit of pause thinking, he made his way into the same building.]
[Perhaps this action is ill-advised --- He had in fact, first only followed Germany to keep the other in sight and make sure he wasn't attacked while he was leaving this area, but when he saw Germany enter that building, his curiosity was piqued.]
[Hopefully, this curiosity won't kill him. For now.]
Hello there!
[He slowly makes his way over to the stairs leading to the floor below and peers down, hoping to reassure himself that nobody's there. Which only makes it sound more likely that there really is someone hiding down there]
[Just to make sure, he calls down with a voice that's quieter than usual]
I have a gun.
[Which couldn't be farther from the truth. While he does have a bulletproof vest, he has no weapon of any kind. And if Romania listens carefully, he may catch the anxious tone in Germany's voice and realize he's bluffing]
no subject
[Now he's thinking what he should do. Saying 'I have a romantic night kit' in response to Germany's declaration probably wouldn't have the same threatening effect. If he should even show himself. If he were to run away instead, his chances of surviving wouldn't be fifty-fifty if he'll be fighting with a gun that can snipe him from long distance.]
[So, instead, he waits where he is, waiting for Germany to make the first move. Strange as it is, he figures he has a better chance of surviving on a confrontation.]
no subject
[He just knows he's not going to be able to relax and focus until he can be absolutely sure there's nobody down there. Which means he'll have to go and verify it for himself]
[He grabs the flashlight from his bag so he has something to hit with other than his fists and makes his way down. Considering how quiet it is, he's fairly certain nobody's there and he's less careful than he should be. After inspecting what he can of the floor below from his current position, he walks straight down the middle of the stairs and searches for any sign that somebody is or was there]
no subject
[Pressing his body even flatter towards the column as if he's attempting to melt into it, Romania almost doesn't breathe in trying to maintain utmost silence.]
[The edges of the light beam soon shine from out of the corner of his eyes, alerting Romania that Germany was only a few meters away. It would be very risky if he were to be seen now, yet he still slithers to the edge of his hiding place as he attempts to get a glimpse of Germany, trying to confirm whether he has that supposed gun of his out and at the ready to point and shoot.]
no subject
[Nothing. It looks clear so far]
[Turns to check the corner across from the column and nearest to him first, so he can safely turn his back on it later]
[Though he tries to be as quiet as he can, he's not the lightest of nations, and the floor beneath his shoes creak occasionally. When he's done with the corner, he'll slowly move further up, keeping his back to the wall, to inspect the rest of the room]
no subject
[His ears were still a bit bothered from the blast earlier, and straining it to use as a gauge for Germany's possible distance was making his head pound as well. Thus, it was too late by the time he realized how close Germany's walked towards now. He'd need to move to the other face of the column without a sound if he didn't want Germany to notice him. However, his thoughts were distracted by something he saw:
Germany was not holding a gun.
And with that came some realization and ideas. If Germany did have a gun but didn't bring it out, then that could mean there'll be some delay time for him to take it out when confronted.]
[So Romania could go for a surprise factor here...]
no subject
[He's willing to dismiss the sound as being caused by the wind or something, but he's more on his guard than before. One bad feeling can be a coincidence, but for it to happen twice?]
[Walks closer, still keeping his back to the wall, so he can see what's on the other side of the column. He clenches his free hand into a fist and tightens his grip on the flashlight, just in case]
no subject
[He waited, and when the time came...]
[Romania suddenly sprung out, his eyes focused on where the light was coming from, his fist swinging with intent to knock it away at the source.]
no subject
[At least he managed to recognize who it was that jumped out at him before the flashlight fell. Arms up, he takes a step back and adopts a defensive posture, ready to punch or kick if he has to]
Romania?!
Tell me, what were you planning to do here! Right now!
no subject
[Romania frowned at the yelled demand. To him, it was odd. Why would Germany need to ask that? And why was Germany just standing and asking questions there instead of threatening him? This was all odd and confusing, and his still-throbbing head wasn't helping.]
[He maintained his distance and battle-ready stance as he replied, an eyebrow arched slightly (though it might not be as easy to see without sufficient light.]
I was defending myself, isn't it obvious? I don't fancy being shot in the back, you know.
no subject
[Well. Romania has nothing to fear in that case. Germany opens his mouth, ready to promise he won't shoot him in the back, when he narrows his eyes. He takes in Romania's appearance, scans him for any sign of a gun or some other kind of weapon. Then he looks Romania in the eye again. He also raises his arms slightly, just in case he reacts badly to what he's about to say. As far as he can tell, Romania doesn't look that desperate, but you never know]
...Where exactly is your weapon?
no subject
[... It is then promptly replaced by a flash of an embarrassed blush, then Romania averting his eyes with a nervous laugh.]
Aaaah, well... It's in my bag. But um, it's better if you don't see it, really.
no subject
...That just sounds suspicious.
no subject
Never mind about it...! A-Anyway, are we decided that we're not fighting? Because I'd really like to get away from this place since I don't want to get caught if it will explode again. And I want to take my leave without worrying about being shot or attacked.
no subject
[That reaction is peculiar. Either Romania doesn't have a good weapon or he's trying to trick him. Both sound equally likely to Germany. If only he had his flashlight so he could see Romania's face more clearly. But he has to make do with what he has]
[Straightens up to his full height, then gives Romania a curt nod]
I promise I'm not going to attack you as you leave.
[He can't make any promises for the future, though]
no subject
[crosses his arms and hums while thinking. He had no assurance but...]
A verbal promise is better than nothing, I guess.
[breathes deeply before letting it all out in a relieved sigh]
[he doesn't let his guard down but he still has a more relaxed aura as he starts walking away]
[though he does slow down his pace a bit as he says]
... Thanks. And try to stay safe.
[He feels he needs to say it now, because there was no telling if they'll meet again in equally peaceful terms in this "game".]
[he has a shadow of a playful grin on his face as he adds]
If you and I manage to stick around long enough, I'll tell you what weapon I've got. Perhaps I'll even give it to you.
[dashes off with an
evilchuckle]no subject
You too.
[Then he's on edge again by what Romania says next. He has no idea what Romania means, but he doesn't like the sound of it]
Ah, really...
[Before Germany ultimately leaves the building, too, he'll think about what kind of weapon Romania could possibly have. Judging by that chuckle, he thinks it'll either prove to be a weird or painful weapon]
