part 333 wild ponies running free across the plain

Hi meme! How was your week? Mine was interesting. I just made pad thai noodles (this wasn't the interesting part) but the noodles came out too rubbery/chewy and I am disappointed. I'm also on an Izumi Yukimura kick today! Are you on any particular music kicks? (Also, man I wish you could embed videos on Dreamwidth! A gal can dream, I guess.)

And then those same people are the ones who exaggerate the flaws in others. I see so much in the fandom of characters like America and England being portrayed as doing no wrong, but France is exaggerated as a rapist and Russia a crazy killer psycho, etc. So the bishie defending only goes for some characters.

I agree with you! I don't get why people are so obsessed with pretending the flaws don't exist. America is clueless in canon, Poland is not incredibly manly, and the BFT are most certainly perverts. I don't subscribe to the rapist/child molester BS, but nobody can say they're not perverted. They are.

Disagree:

Spain is terrified of fireworks, but Romano loves them.

About once a year Spain will track down England and demand repayment for the Spanish Armada, and England of course refuses. Spain never gives up though and will find England no matter where he is or wait outside his house for days if he has to. He has actually walked in on England in rather compromising positions with various lovers and had to apologise profusely for it at the next meeting. To the lover. Never to England. (The fuck is this)

Spain hates getting his butt groped or touched. Not because it doesn’t feel good, but because it’s his ero-zone, and he’ll make adorable squealish noises if anyone were to touch it. (Dude it's already canon he doesn't even notice, are you just going to ignore actual can- you know what never mind)

Whenever Spain sees Latin America (especially Mexico) on the world map he gets sad and starts to remember the days when he was a powerful empire. (I'm dying plz send help I can't look at these anymore)

Agree:

When Spain was married to Austria in Hapsburg, Austria taught Spain to play piano. Nowadays it is one of the memories he cherishes most about his time in the Hapsburg group. (SOME. WHAT. I've got the headcanon that Austria tried to teach Spain to play the piano. He never really picked up on it and was never any good at reading music, but they both ended up enjoying the time spent together, even if it was mostly just Spain fumbling along)

England is terrified of Weeping Angels and flat out refuses to go to cemeteries. Spain put a life size replica of one in England’s room one night as revenge for his lost Armada. (WHY IS IT ALWAYS THE ARMADA MY GOD PEOPLE THEY'VE FOUGHT OVER MORE THAN THAT. This is another half one- I could totally see him doing that, but not in "revenge for his lost Armada". Because he's an ass)
