Fffff I dunno much yet about Sweden's kings and queens yet. So lets go with HRE. I'm going by memory here, so excuse me any mistake.
The whole royalty of the HRE was a mess. Six Prince Electors (originally seven) chose the king. The king didn't held any real power, though. At least until Austria took over through (I THINK) Spain andCharles V and Co. Who became Holy Roman Emperor in the 1500's. This becomes more Austria's history than the HRE (And nothing that the HRE's states where what you'd call pretty unruly towards Austria).
I think HRE's favorite king would have been Barbarossa, even if he had mixed feelings regarding him and Italy (long story, but I think Italianons would know why hahaha). The reason why he hates grilled pickles is because the smell reminds him of when Barbarossa died and was kept in a barrel so he could be buried at the Church of St Peter, in Antioch. Most unpleasant trip ever. I think this is also the time he bonded with Hungary, because one of her princes guided the army into the Holy Land (everyone went on despair and several people took their own life because of the king being dead). I like to think that his wife, Beatrice of Burgundy, was the one who taught him embroidery and to sew his own clothes.
