part 340 tender lumplings everywhere

The best season is coming, meme! Halloween season! I mean... fall! Yeah, fall. I love the fall. I actually like every season in its own way, but I think fall has the best atmosphere. Crunching leaves and pumpkins and excuses to decorate the outside of your house with fake spider webs and zombie hands. Also it means... Hetalia Halloween fanart! (Maybe even... something from Himaruya? Maybe? Bueller? No?)

Enjoy part 340!

i know, that's why i said i knew it was a bad plan but
i got attached i admit it

but there's adherence to a company aesthetic and then there's doing the same damn style for every movie
we're talking the difference between sleeping beauty and alice in wonderland here
you can shake things up a bit
please shake things up a bit

and do tell how the love triangle is not what i think, because i'm still a fuddy-duddy stick in the mud and probably not going to see it but this is the one time where i'm saying 'spoil me and maybe i'll change my mind'

i'm glad they treat the female characters well, that's a good step

I would say it's a similar style because that's how the "Disney aesthetic" that they've chosen to go with has translated into 3D. I do wish they would experiment more (like Hercules' quirky designs) but the sad reality is that marketing and marketability does play a big role in Disney's aesthetic. In the same way that the Disney Princesses are now being homogenized, Disney--for its fantasy/fairy tale style films--is seeming to go with a singular style that blends in well with their current marketing.

I just get frustrated, I think, because people did this with Tangled & Frozen but not other Disney films? I've never seen people be like: WHAT THE FUCK DISNEY, WHY DIDN'T YOU ANIMATE CINDERELLA EXACTLY LIKE MARY BLAIR'S ART?? FUCKING WASTED OPPORTUNITY!! (Not that you're saying that! Just going off the more extreme reactions I see...)

I'm not sure if you've seen the latest trailers, but the animation is beautiful. I don't care for Anna's design but holy shiiiiiiit the details in the snow and ice and frost. Unfffff.

*SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SERIOUSLY SPOILERRRRRRRRRRRRR*

One of the men that people are being led to believe is in a "triangle" is the villain of the story, there's no triangle/fight for her love so much as it is 'oh hey, you are useful to me... oh you're not anymore? well then.....'

Like you know how well done Merida & Elinor were in Brave? (one of the few things Brave did well) The sister relationship like that. Very well done, very god damn refreshing.

Let me guess, the rich, handsome one? Because if it was the Ice Guy that would be a twist.

Yes. But it's still a twist, really? Because unless they decide to spoiler it with a new trailer, there's no indication he's anything but a loveable love interest until BAM! villain

But holy shit if it had been that ice guy all along that would have been AWESOME. NOBODY would see that shit coming! The random rich dude isn't as much of a surprise, especially when he's not traveling with Anna throughout the movie.

in the context of the movie, it's a surprise IMO, because until then he's basically portrayed as her "love at first sight/falling in love" match, with little moments similar to those found in a lot of Disney films when characters fall in love. So it's kinda a rug pulled out from under the viewer, unless they've heard spoilers. Or are always looking for twists, I guess! Haha

Not saying it wouldn't be a surprise. Just saying the ice guy would have been a better surprise, I think. Just because he goes with Anna all that way and is her companion.
