100% agreement. This is the hottest pairing ever.

It's hard for me to explain why this pairing is so great in my opinion - in fact, I can come up with a lot of rational explanations why it would never work. But I just love it too much! I like it the best when they're being total dorks and arguing about useless things. Fail sex where they make mistakes is also lovely, as is angst, provided that it doesn't get too exaggerated.

This pairing has the best fanworks, hands down. Gorgeous art and fantastic fic, and a lot of it is historical, too.

i love that many of the fanworks have a great sense of humor and comedic timing. also romano just entertains me a lot when he's in love, in general, but it's somehow way funnier when he's got a thing for spain because he has all this baggage about what he really wants and what spain really wants.

My OTP is Russia/Lithuania! A good thing i forgot to mention was that the rapetruck fad has died down, but of course, this means some fans will go the wrong way and ignore the inherent creepinesss...also, the nekomimi strips were buhyoo because Russia kinda sees himself as a daddy to the Baltics, but there, he was a little baby crying to Mama Liet...

Anyway, the other pairing I was specifically mentioning was Russia/America. A lot of the "good" fics are well written if you didn't know the characters, but how am I supposed to believe the two guys smirking at each other with bloodlust are the same guys who fake-smile at each other and brag about their dicks?

Good doujin, good fic, and there's a humor to be found in that Germany's stiff but kinky while Italy's flirty but vanilla (or is he? I'm also fond of Italy being surprisingly kinky, but still Italy-like about it)
