I was working on an old femDen/Norway smutfic today and I kind of hate it. The basic idea is good, but the writing itself is bad.

It's kind of like when you have a great pencil sketch, but then you ink it and suddenly everything looks horrible.

So now I guess I need to do the writing equivalent of photoshopping the hell out of it. Usually that means printing it out and going through it line-by-line with a red pen and pretty much literally rewriting everything. UGH.

I'm probably going to have to scrap the ending and write something else in its place, too, because what I have now is just bad.

Aside from that, I've got this dumb self-indulgent fluff with Norway and Netherlands and rabbits that I've been sort of poking at. It's nearly finished though, so I don't know what I'll do after that... Maybe some equally dumb and self-indulgent 17th-century angstfest or something, because I can't get my mind off that lately.

Oh, and there's also the Link Between Worlds fic that I've been working on. But I've kind of set it aside for a while, because half of it (the fluffy friendship parts) are turning out well, and the other half (the action/horror parts) are awful, and the difference is so much that it's like two people wrote the damn thing, and I'm so annoyed with it right now.

evidently reverse psychology works wonders on me. i got into spamano right around the time when meme had a hateboner for it, recently started looking into rusprus because it was so often mentioned as a disliked ship, and now i find myself shipping usuk and spamano more on the same impetus. ditto face/main 8 in general - i liked them to begin with, mind, but the more they're mentioned as boring on meme, the more i find myself inclined to look for fanfic/art of them.

on the flip side, meme's interest in china/america and turkey/iceland got me into those ships. and to some degree i like the nordics because of the meme, though that is also because they've gotten a lot more development in the last year or two as opposed to early on.

Spain. Thought he was boring and only liked him for his looks, but after the fun rp and stuff started to like him.

I've started liking Russia more since we got the great RPers, and some good anon fans.

Haa...I'll admit I didn't mind England too much before I found the meme. My current dislike of him is more or less the combination of bad USUK fan comments about the Revolutionary War strip back in the day (We shouldn't have won the war and broke Engwand's poor, poor fragile heart, baaaaawwww), the bad fanfic that followed suit, and the meme, at least when he was the meme's main whipping boy.

On the other side is Bulgaria, Thailand, and Prussia, which the meme's antics with them bumped them up from minor or annoying to liked in my books. Oh, and fem!Austria, oh my~
