part 347 dimensions of sight and sound

and of mind. Do do do do do do do do do do do.

How was your end-of-December-into-January time, meme? Did you make any New Year's resolutions? Or light a candle in your window in the hopes that Himaruya would update again instead of leaving us behind like an 19th century light house keeper's wife whose husband has gone off to sea? ... Did you?

Enjoy part 347!

I'm saying Russians are BITTER, not their food! Though that probably is too!

Because organs are gross! It's like being a cannibal!

[EVEN MORE GROSSED OUT]

LET'S SEE I like to think Port is the long-suffering supervisor to Spain's ridiculous schemes and antics. My headcanon Port is more serious/mellow than Spain and Spain's all HEY LET'S DO THING and Port's like thing is bad idea but Spain never learns so he's gonna do it anyway and Port can't exactly leave him to fuck up so. He kind of sighs exasperately and tries to mediate Spain and England interactions so they don't kill each other and then goes out and drinks as far away from Spain as possible with his calm friends when he thinks he's about to explode.

wahh, i'm glad you think so! Prussia's actually interesting because he seems to be the big brother who sweeps in and helps out the younger nations. Like he was a supporting hand for the Italian unification effort, and also plucked little Germany away from French and Austrian control and then he also supported America, and I'm sure there's a few more I'm hazy on but it's cool to think he has a big heart for younger nations and just has a really paternal side to him that's sadly not explored often in canon at all.

and Yup! Dutch and German were huge cultural influences, it's kinda weird Himaruya doesn't really explore that too, but I'm sure he will some day!

And lmao i wish we'd get calm normal belarus more so she can have normal relationships too. I especially want strips from where America adopted her as his little sister for a bit

I like the idea of Australia as this grubby little beast of a child, somewhere between free-spirited and absolutely feral. I think he must in many ways remind England of himself as a kid, you know - a scrappy, stubborn, pint-sized troublemaker lurking in the bushes, nipping at the heels of his elders and betters - but in a way that just makes England harder on him, determined to pin him down and box him up and make a decent young gentleman of him. Civilized. Obedient.

And... I'm sure you can see where this is going. Of course, it's very relevant to my interests to think of little Australia running away from his lessons or his bath or whatever stupid boring shit England has on the agenda... and England being led on a merry chase and getting redder in the face and more annoyed by the hour... and then finally dragging that brat back home by the ear, and then...

...and then it'd be time for some much-needed discipline, yes? :)a

Get out the whip spanking time, but make sure to check his grubby little hands for any poisonous specimens he may be keeping as pets.

Poison play...I wonder how that would work?

HEIDI

I like to think he watches a good share of romcoms and comedies in general; a lot of Swiss local films (not that many are made) are kind of fond political comedies/satires-- the article I read describes them as "essentially affirmative political comedies" and I could definitely see him liking those kind of movies. He probably likes action films, too, but maybe not as much as people would think.

Of course he's gotta pre-screen any movies he's going to watch with Liech to make sure they're appropriate for her.

How would you know what Russians tasted like? Maybe you are the cannibal!

Eating animal parts does not make you a cannibal, silly! Expand your tastes!

You're American, yes? Sounds like it~

Aw, shucks! :'D

I feel like America is that guy who texts HEY YOU WANNA HANG OUT?? and while you're thinking if you have time and where you should meet up you realize there's a loud pounding at the door - a door which you'd rather not have to repair or replace so you'd better go open it before America knocks it down.

And America does that to most people but Canada is like right there and besides they're bros so America just invites himself over whenever.

But in any case, they're pretty close, they play sports together and tussle and maybe fuck too because hey, warms you up after a long round of hockey.

But I have to say a lot of AmeCan out there is too spun-sugar saccharine for my taste; I like them best with a kind of... casual, bro-ishness to it. Like they don't have to sweet talk or woo or be especially gentle with each other. They're so used to each other, you know? They can take whatever, they're durable. And I think they totally have brotherly spats, too; America's pushy and brash and still can't resist recycling that "Where's Canada? I don't see him..." joke, and Canada can pick just the right words to needle through the cracks in America's enormous ego and hit him where it hurts.

What're your thoughts on these two?
