Same here. I can't think of another game series that has captured my attention and caused me to be so emotionally invested as this one. Definitely echoing the sentiment about the ending. It could have been worse, but I feel as though it could have been so much better, too. Disappointment is the best way to describe it, yes.
Good to know I wasn't completely disconnected! I lurk in very Virmire Survivor friendly areas of the fandom, so it confused me at first to find out about the sort of vitriol he and Ash can get, but the more I thought about it, the more I started to understand where the resentment came from. ME2 was a bad time for Virmire Survivor, indeed. However, part of the reason why I personally like Kaidan so much is that I feel he tried his best to genuinely apologise and make amends in the last game. That aside, though, I can still see why he gets ragged on.
I have so many feelings about Tali and Garrus and Kasumi, I can't even. Begin to wholly describe all the reasons why I like them so much. And in regards to Fem!Shep, it's all good! I find that most people prefer her voice acting, which is totally cool. I'll admit, M!Shep's voice acting was probably not as good, objectively speaking. Fem!Shep is just too badass in that way.
fjdkjfklajf;l JOKER ♥ He is an incredible character, ah cannot imagine the series without him, jfdkjfa; That first scene with him aboard the Normandy and sassing Kaidan and being sassed by Anderson, I couldn't help but like him. While I wouldn't have romanced him, dammit, I am of the firm belief that he ought to have been a love interest! It would have been really cool if he had been! jfkdjfl;ajd;j
