Alfred and Matthew spend most of their free time together, even taking the week around their birthdays (July 1 and July 4) off to go to a lake house that sits on the shore of Great Lake Huron to do brotherly stuff. Alfred came up with the idea to help Matty not have thoughts about murder or suicide (after Matty tried to kill Alfred). The two soon became so close that the few times Alfred’s own depression set in (and he will get physically sick from it) Matthew was the one to get him out of it and he was the only one who knew about it!

The brothers close bond makes many of the others with siblings both incredibly jealous and so very guilty at the same time (Japan gets uncomfortably guilty, making him send random cute things anonymously to China)
