We've seen him interact with humans in canon, and there was an anime episode where he greeted a random human customer in a German cafe. As with other nations, he was shown to be very strict with them. I think he's especially strict with soldiers, because he considers being obedient and following a tough regimen as a part of their duty just as he considers it a part of his own duty.

But he does care about them and he's as polite with them as he is with other nations, though he knows they're humans and he can be blunt about human limitations. Usually that's for their own sake. Back during the war, he'd also have a drink with them after a long day of work and when they were off-duty he could act, relatively speaking, relaxed around them.

I'd say he gets as involved with state affairs as he can - it's his house and body they're making decisions about, after all, so his citizens and his health are involved. He has his own opinions about everyday decisions, but I imagine he'll be professional and either voice those objectively or only voice them around other nations. Ah, unless they're big decisions that'll heavily impact his home or his relationship with other nations.

And Himaruya stated he's good with children, too, if I'm not mistaken. I'll bet little children that are brave enough will run up to him and ask him to swing them around or if he'll carry them around on his shoulders and such. And if they ask properly, he'll do it, too. Let them hang off of his biceps and such. Still, I doubt he suddenly turns into a happy-go-lucky kind of person around children, and he probably doesn't spend all that much time playing with them.

The writing style I'm aiming for is basically "succinct, correct, and understandable English".

I suppose I've realized that since playing in games, my writing has become more... ah, just slightly lengthy/slightly more detailed since I first started playing on meme, I guess? I just got so used to the writing style of games these days, I guess (or at least how people play in

hollyheights).

But that's also mostly because I lately try my best to give other characters things to respond to, ah...! (even if it doesn't always work orz but) and with a character like Japan, he's so subtle that I have to describe things a lot sometimes even if he's not physically reacting much, if that makes sense? The smallest things he does can really have a lot of meaning though, ah... and when he does get to react a lot more obviously, like when his guard is lowered or when he's really surprised, it's really great too and yes

Well, in canon the Scandinavia trio all speak in dialects that are different from standard Japanese. So, I decided to work with that.

Norway's dialogue is loosely based on Canadian maritime dialect, while some of his vocabulary is borrowed from Middle English. Some of his sentence structure/turns of phrase are also borrowed from Middle English, and some are direct translations of Norwegian phrases.

Basically, the effect I'm going for is "grumpy old fisherman", more or less.

OH MY GOD YES

Don't get her wrong the guys are great fun, especially when they're all different and weird and funny ~~and hot~~, but when you think about it apart from America and Austria (and now Germany!!!!) she's pretty much without all her friends.

She's a social creature and damn it she can make new friends but it's tiring without her normal ones. But every canon nation she's met so far has said they like her better than Gilbert so at least she gets an ego boost out of the whole thing.

omg, you know, it's kind of hard to have him keep evading them! he's really not the type to answer them except under extreme provocation ORRRRR accidentally. the best ones are the innuendo types where the question and answer could be mundane but it's highly doubtful. and who knows if he knows, or is really oblivious. he's under the impression that someone really, really wants him to have screwed around with a couple of historical figures (and whether he did or didn't is a mystery).

he's the type to have to be eased into talking about things like that. it's all in the phrasing, eyes.gif, you'll crack him eventually
