part 348 candles in the lighthouse window

Hey meme! How are you doing? What is up? Do you also have a candle lit in your window for the return of Himaruya? like anon who is a light house wife! I hope he returns from the sea soon, with stories of adventure and sea monsters and the life outside the island. Ah, Himaruya. Safe journeys. Safe... journeys.

Enjoy part 348!

DO NOT EAT AMBROSIA SALAD. I REPEAT. DO NOT EAT AMBROSIA SALAD. You will be sorely disappointed. It's fucking Jello and Cool Whip with random shit mixed in that has no business being there (like marshmallows).

Grasshopper pie on the other hand is delicious. So is Mississippi Mud.

It varies from brand to brand! And I think some are wines flavored with honey, so if you're looking for the full mead experience, that might be something to be mindful of.

Ooh, I hear you. Beer can kind of be an acquired taste, it took me a while, and I know I'm not the only one out there. Tastes in alcohol seem polarized between those who gravitate towards the sweet stuff and those who can't stand it. It's interesting! :|a

Mississippi Mud has marshmallows in it too but they're melted on the top and the rest is chocolate anyway, so...

I'm trying to think of something you should try. Have you ever had chess pie? It's basically vinegar and vanilla flavored custard-like egg pie.

I'm a Hufflepuff. I thought I was a Ravenclaw for ages and then I looked at the house descriptions and had a duh moment.

Liet is possibly Gryffindor, possibly Hufflepuff. Probably more toward Gryffindor.

Liech is Hufflepuff for sure.

Romania is Slytherin or Ravenclaw, probably more toward Slytherin.

I used to dislike spinach and brussels sprouts too, but I came around

the first time I tried bubbletea was a Bad Experience, thankfully I tried it again later on

besides that, there isn't much I either don't like, though there are a few foods I've hated from childhood and will do anything to avoid even now

pho is really good and keeps you warm when you eat it!

+1 on poutine, I am so curious

I thought I wouldn't like borscht but ended up really enjoying it!

all the flan in my life has only ever been totally disgusting or totally delicious. there is no in-between. proceed with caution.

I've been enjoying a bunch of Hetalia things this evening, so I'll just link to all of it. (Well, most of it. Not the roleplay stuff.)

This Nor/Ice comic is cute At least I think it's supposed to be romantic. Or maybe it's just brotherish. I can't tell.

And this fanart of a tied-up Norway by the same artist I actually go back and forth on this artist's stuff a lot, sometimes I really like it and sometimes it doesn't do it for me. I think they've definitely improved over time, though.

Here's a cute viking-era fic with Norway, Sweden, and little Iceland Author wrote it up quickly, but man, it's cute.

Netherlands/Denmark - Smoke and sex Hot damn, I need more of this pairing in my life.

And a cute Den/Nor fanart on Tegaki I like that loose, sketchy look; it's nice.

I'll definitely try several then!

Part of the problem is that I taste bitter very strongly, to the point that it ruins foods/drinks for me. Sweet stuff is rarely bitter so they're easier.

Make it the only alternative drink to water during the winter?Maybe?

Red Rose Orange Pekoe? Never heard of it, but it sounds interesting. Maybe if I see it I might buy one for trial. But it's okay, I'm lacking in knowledge of tea names anyway. Oolong tea, Jasmine, Matcha green tea, black. That's about it.

Yep! The place where it's grown also affects the taste, but that's true for any kind of food to be honest. Coffee taste differences also differ similarly to tea, but instead of time having the beans sun dried, it's the amount of time roasted that determines taste. Light for a small time, and a rich, deep taste for a longer roast. Of course, you could roast it for too long and make the most horrible tasting coffee known to man too. It tastes of soot and failure. ;^(\

Glad to have talked to you about this, though the details tend to escape me. A habit I should learn to drop if I'm to minor in history, though with my major being a science, I'm not sure.

I kinda agree. I always headcanon'd that nations just appeared when a civilization was born, or a new generation came and the older nations would take them under their wing until they disappeared. It doesn't necessarily mean they don't share the same blood or family bonds, but they just came from other places. I mean, look at baby Japan, he appeared out of the blue and then got adopted by China.

Also, can you imagine Germania getting around 300 ladies pregnant. Or giving birth to 300 children?

Otoh there's what Himaruya said, about nations starting like humans or something? So I might be wrong and the whole thing is just a huge mess eh.

eta: Also adding that it would be interesting the thought that the more influence an older nation has over the culture of a younger nation, the more "related" they are, if that makes any sense.
