We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

When I decide what nyotalia names to use, the only things I consider are whether I like the name and whether it's a name that has been used in the country in question in the past and not just in very recent times. I don't care one bit if a name is almost universal fanon. If I don't like it, I won't use it. I also don't care about what Himaruya says unless he puts his foot down and says that THIS is the name and no other.

That said, here are some names I like:

America: Abigail
England: Lucy or Alice
France: Francine or Françoise
Germany: Louise
Prussia: Julchen
Austria: Lieselotte
Romano: Chiara
Finland: Aino
Sweden: Astrid or Gunilla
Russia: Anya or Irina
Japan: Sakura

I have such a hard time deciding what to call nyo!Italy. I can't stand Alice or Daisy for her, but Feliciana is also incredibly lazy. Felícita sounds pretty, but since most of the google results I find are baby name sites or businesses and not actual people with this name, I have no idea if it's a real name or not.

i enjoyed this equally creepy (keep in mind, i have a slight kink for gore/torture so your mileage may vary) short fic on the kink meme where spain did manage to conquer england and one of his underlings had plucked out england's eye and spain was rather irritated about it (i suppose spain is more for collecting whole nations, with their eyes in) but he perked right up after methodically breaking some of england's fingers...

Man right after reading that thread above I was re-reading one of my favorite fics and I found "amethyst eyes gazed into emerald ones" and I lol'd

That fic also kept referring to "the Arctic nation" which got on my nerves after a while

I think the author of that fic was around 15....I love it anyway
