part 353 whalers on the moon

We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

Enjoy part 353!

Hold on, lightly mock my cheeseburger or something first so that I can burst into woobie tears because NOBODY IN THE WORLD APPRECIATES MA CULTURE BOOHOOHOO!!!! and then you can console me with the cookie + blanket + declarations of unending support ad infinitum. Because you'd do that for me, wouldn't you. Of course you would. That's my headcanon for you and I, right there.

Prussia often gets to be a musical genius who masters at least some kind of flute perfectly (because Fritz!). But he of course hides this super amazing talent because he doesn't want to be lame like Austria or something, but then someone catches him playing and is amazed by how brilliant he is.

And don't forget Prussia the knight in shining armor who is perfectly updated on feminism, gender issues etc. and therefore the only one who truly understands Hungary - unlike that sexist Austria who is trying to force her into being something she's not. And if Hungary doesn't return his feelings, he acts like the perfect nice guy and waits for her without a single complaint or obnoxious comment (only angsting in private) until she realises that her true love was there all along.

whooooa hold up though! did you just dare to use the words "nice" and "guy" together without a three paragraph rant against the encroaching threat of the villainous Nice Guy (tm)?

wow. i am telling the tumblr police and they are coming to revoke your feminism card.

The entire world upon realizing that England's in the kitchen.

Exactly what anon above said about Italy, but some people also make him totally in tune with everyone around him when it's canon he's not the best at reading the atmosphere. Just look at the misunderstandings of Buon San Valentino.

As for Germany, some people like to take away his awkwardness and his anger. I often read fics where people have him smirking and making jokes. Or where he's friendly and relaxed. Now he's not constantly beating Italy and everybody up, but he's also serious and uptight.

>he acts like the perfect nice guy

I know what you meant, but I just pictured Prussia in a fedora and now I'm cry laughing oh my god.

But yes, +100000 to this and it all sucks. People suck.

Oh, man, I hate joke-cracking Germany, except in those rare situations when he knows the other character really well and the author is good at writing him. I also don't like sex god Germany who never gets embarrassed.

you have some issues

it's not your website

organize YOUR OWN TAGS however you want, but don't act like an uptight martyr because other people aren't using them in the same way.

ITT: Books

(Anonymous) 2014-07-06 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
What do nations think of their famous writers? Which ones do they like and which one do they dislike?

Re: ITT: Books

(Anonymous) 2014-07-06 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't really see any of them disliking an author. Some they probably like more than others based on personalities though, I can see.

I don't have specific headcanon, but I'm reasonably sure America's favorite author, or one of the top favorites, is Mark Twain.

America likes Dan Brown better than Herman Melville

...you know, it pains me to think this is actually kind of likely. I loathe Dan Brown. I also find Melville clunky and longwinded, but that's not the point, nothing compares to my hatred of Dan Brown's writing.

Dan Brown and Stephanie Meyer should collaborate to write the ultimate worst American novel possible.

Replace "books" with "plays", and gimme France discussing Moliere's plays with Moliere himself.

Germany and Prussia have very different tastes when it comes to fiction. Prussia is really into Brecht and Kafka, stuff with sharp social criticism and dark humour, while Ludwig is more conservative and likes romantic literature better, with Goethe and Schiller.

They'd give it the title FIFTY SHADES OF MARMOREAN LAZY RESEARCH.

Select General, and then "Total number of times opposition caught offisde" and look which team is by far the best at catching their opponents in the offisde trap.

-Where are you from?

-Who's your favorite Hetalia nation-tan?

-Did you come to like the character because of interest in the real life nation, or the reverse?

this has nothing to do with anything and i don't know much about sports but

god i wish there could be a fic in which nations fuck and use sports terminology like this for dirty talk

But what does the offside trap correspond to? Teasing a nation until they're about to come but then leaving them hanging?

i don't actually know all i know about soccer is that there's a ball and you kick it and stuff (...maybe that part shouldn't be transferred too literally into the bedroom). offside trap or whatever this is like a foreign language. but that's why it's sexy.

in soccer-themed sex you don't say 'fuck me' you say 'offside trap' which translates to god knows what but i think it's beautiful.
