We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

Never got around to reading the manga! As for the anime, well... my feelings on it are really mixed. I went for years having not seen more than... let's say the first six episodes. So when I finally sat down to watch the whole thing a couple of years ago, the eventual shift in tone to something more serious was kind of disappointing.

I like the manga because it goes waaaaay more in depth with the story and characters and motivations. It isn't like the anime where it's "OH MAN SUDDEN SUPER SRS," since the manga is mostly serious in tone for the whole series. Plus the motivations of Knives are actually pretty legit (unlike the anime with "that one guy beat me! fuck all humans!") and I find myself agreeing with him, oop. :x

Maybe I'll take a look eventually. I was into the anime for the goofy stuff, but if the manga is that different, I'll probably be able to appreciate it as its own thing.

Shout it Loud, King of Bandit Jing opening. I haven't actually sat and watched this show since I was 17 so idk how well it holds up (especially since it was animated by DEEN) but I do remember loving it a lot.

HEAT ISLAND, the opening for Ayakashi: Japanese Horror Tales. Specifically the Bakeneko version because I am obvious and Mononoke is my favorite anime.

Brotherhood had some of the highest quality OP and ED of pretty much any series I've watched. I actually think the ED #3 and #2 were even better, especially because there had two episodes where they started the song early as the episode was still playing and tied it into what was happening, and it was amazing.
