We've been here over a year now! I can hardly believe it! Dreamwidth's been pretty good, I'd say, with almost no downtime to speak of and all that! Anyway... how is your spring going? Or I guess it's almost summer, isn't it? Hopefully it's been well! I've been catching up on work and new movies, all very exciting stuff, I'm sure.

way too pricey though, imo; i'd probably be willing to pay that much for a figurine, but in that case i'd want either a sculpt that's unique to this particular item so that it's like a small sculpture (no ugly join line at the shoulder for example) OR all the limbs should be articulated with joints in elbows, wrists, knees, possibly ankles, and ability to pose in different ways. idk, i'm more used to the norms of figure collecting.

mackie barbies usually retail for higher because of all the details and because they're more limited/exclusive.

personally if I buy Barbies I usually go for dolls that are about $10-40 at most

i don't mind paying more but i think $119 warrants a lot more detail, value, and individuality than that.

Why on earth? Some people don't read any books. Some read just for light fun. Many read just fanfiction, and let's face it, most of it is terrible and read only because it's titillating.

At least they have found something to read they enjoy. At least they read something.

Kinda related or unrelated, but I wish they'd made more barbies with different race/hair/etc instead of the usual blonde/blue-eyed. Not going to happen, but one can dream.

Waking up. Gonna go to my local farmers' market soon.

Just woke up way earlier than I wanted to thanks to cramps. So now I've accepted my fate and am drinking tea while catching up on the internet. I will probably stay in bed most of the day anyway.

...maybe it's just me but when i was younger i remember seeing quite a few barbies of different races whenever i was in the store looking for them?

or maybe it just seemed like a lot of them to me at the time because i was younger and specifically liked blonde haired blue eyed barbie. or alternate hair blue eyed barbie

I feel like lately, they make more collector/step-up Barbies that aren't just regular blonde/white Barbie than they do playline. (Aka opposite of how it used to be.)
