Greece is amazing. I mean I guess it comes as a surprise to no-one but I am actually surprised I liked it so much. I had built a lot of expectations for this trip and when I do that I usually get disappointed but OH GOD I WASN'T. I loved even Athens, even after everybody assured me I was going to hate it.
I am in awe at how well they keep their excavation areas, too. Olympia especially is a beautiful countryside garden and is an absolute pleasure to explore. We could stand to learn a thing or twenty from them.
Next big planned trip for me would probably be Spain or Turkey, but I'm most definitely still not done with Greece either. I need to see at least Crete. And Corfù is really close to were I live, too.
I'm seriously considering applying for teaching Italian somewhere in Greece for a while, that's how much I am in love with that country. I know a vacation really doesn't give you the measure of how it is to live somewhere, but it wouldn't be my first experience of the sort and I'm reasonably sure I'd adapt to it better than to Germany.
Re: ciao meme is anybody 'round can we chat?
