honestly, i'm amazed it hadn't happened there yet, either. SU fandom came close but the girl who attempted survived, thank god. she still got shit from antis even now though, which is just disgusting knowing what happened.
i want to say i'm amazed it was gorillaz fandom, but somehow i'm not. band fandoms and real people slash tend to have some of the worst antis (and homophobes) and iirc the fandom always had a huge amount of them. if it was going to happen to any real people based fandom, considering gorillaz uses animated characters and has ships... i'm not as surprised as i should be.
