The last time I trick or treated 'normally' was when I was 11. I remember because when I got home from trick or treating, I dumped out my candy on the dining room table like I was told to do ever since I could remember, so my mom and/or dad could check my candy. This year my dad said: "UHhhh what did you do that for?" And I said "well so you can check my candy?" And he said "Oh hon I don't need to do that anymore."
And I knew.... I was officially... too old to trick or treat.
I did go out once more with my friends when we were all 15-16, because we were having a horror movie night and wanted candy, but there were maybe... 5 kids in the whole neighborhood? Between me being 11 and 15, kids just stopped trick or treating in our area.
