I certainly can't speak for right-wing America, but I can tell you that most of America is 'tsundere' for France. Despite the verbal insults/outrage, we secretly (or maybe not so secretly, am not sure) fawn over France and anything French. Hey, we do love that Statue of Liberty. One of the greatest symbols of our country is French. Media can skew anything whichever way they want, but occasional butthurt does happen. With that said, I'll have to say that I still can't speak for all of America and that this comment might not even have anything to do with your question. Oh, well.
