Part 11 comes after Part 10
Part 10 is over! Part 11 is here. If you haven't checked the challenge entry, the challenge has been extended until Part 11 maxes. Hopefully that is enough time for people who are busy with finals and such to find time to enter, if they'd like to!
Should I mention that the number 11 scares me? I really don't like that number. Like how Natalie Portman hated the number 5 (or 6?) in Where the Heart Is. But a higher number. Well, anyway.
Da Rules:
*No image bombing.
Da Notes:
*If you're feeling down, make sure to get help, and refer to links on previous parts if you need them.
*If you don't know how to post images while anon, refer to this comment. Make sure to follow the directions on that comment as well!
And also:
*Posting on this meme, logged in or not, is opening you up and taking the risk for positive and negative comments. If you can't handle that response to your logged in comments, I'd suggest posting anon and not drawing attention to yourself.
*What you say is what you say, so please make sure you want to say it. Except for special cases (that hopefully will not come up) I won't be deleting or screening comments.
*This is a NSFW space. Warnings are not required.
-Feel free to comment or message me with any questions/concerns.

It would be like Lady Oscar, I guess.
He would be Royalist at the very beginning because it's a duty to love his king and his queen, though he feels a bit suspicious about Marie-Antoinette because she's Austrian. Due to the fact she has been forced to marry Louis XVI, she doesn't want to meet with France a lot.
Even though Louis XVI does loves France a lot, he doesn't know how to behave towards him or take the good decisions for France.
The more times goes, after the Independance war, France has to endure a financial crisis (you know, fever etc.) but he realizes his king and queen don't care about him, then he is appalled by all the injustices, inequalities which is striking his people. His people suffer but the king and the gueen doesn't seem to realize how the situation is serious. He tried to speak with them but he is ignored and betrayed. Angst and anger ensue.
Then, the revolution. I can facily imagine a France mind-wrecked because he truly loved his king and his queen but his desire for equality and justice is overwhelming him.
I can imagine him attending the excecution, frantically but just after the blade felt, he can't help but cry, and he doesn't know why. (not he regrets it, but he has been a monarchy for centuries and suddenly, it ends)
/bad english. I wish I could convey better how I feel Revolution!France would be like. He would angst a lot about his deed, but will definitely be on his people side.

(Anonymous) 2009-05-22 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)Yes, I know there was a lot of conflict between Paris and the countryside but as the capital seems akin to the countries heart....So I don't think he even had toyed with the thought of not being a monarchy anymore in the beginning but after such things as the King and Queen fleeing for Varennes and trying to wage war against their own country his opinion would have changed a great deal. And I'm sure the change from Monarchy to Republic must have been pretty damn strange, but hmm, on a second read, I probably just misunderstood you.
I guess I just see France as very much like his citizens during that period.
And don't worry about the english it's not my native language either o/
