The whole usa/canada/uk/france happy family, it doesn't actually make me cringe but I'm perplexed.
Contrary to the anon above, I don't really enjoy fics that don't have at least a little historical justification or/and when the authors are too respectful of canon personnality to the point of shallowness ( I think Hetalia is interesting because of the concept, not because Hidekaz is a characterisation genius so taking the character like base for something more solid is a minimum) For example N. Italy is a lot more interesting when authors dare to give him a real personnality (but I'm biased because I don't really like the way Hidekaz portrait him)
Like said the first anon the characterisation of Russia. Also just after the war, when confronted to America. I mean he lost maybe 17 millions (or 20?) of people and it's like nothing happened.(why he is not in the hospital? or at least very tired and trying to hide it?)
