Huh? This is news to me -- I was under the impression that Cuba/Canada was a pretty popular ship. Perhaps it's more on the RP side of things? I guess a lot of players jump at the chance to have a "blank slate" character, and that kind of explains his popularity.

Dunno, I like Cuba (and the place itself seems really cool). I don't ship him with anyone, but that goes for a lot of other characters too.

People forget the ship a lot it seems, but personally I really like it.

I think it's only because he's not a bishonen (or not beautiful or charismatic enough -like Turkey for example). It bother me somewhat because the principe of hetalia is idealistic personnification.

As for Cuba, I like the dude. I usually ship him with Canada or Russia, but I saw a somewhat decent Cuba/America fic (I say somewhat decent because 'big black man' and Cuba? Yeah, not even fucking close, tyvm) that amused me.

P.S: I'm latina myself and dude, I can't stand that shit. We need to be proud of who we are and drop the whole 'but white people are better' mentality. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as if that'll happen any time soon.

I like Cuba! ;_; It's a shame we haven't really seen much of him outside the Canada strips as it is, but yeah...he seems to be overlooked in fandom too.

And sometimes he's "bishified" too like Russia is by some artists, with his tan either being underplayed or his brawniness and paunch gone. And of course, some forget his delicious NOSE.

We could use some more Cuba! ~~Cuba/Russia is fine too. Or fem!Cuba/fem!Russia even~~

I don't know, I don't think the race is entirely the problem (it is probably a factor, though). There's plenty of art for--wait, fuck, Seychelles doesn't count. But big-boned goes for Russia, too.

Anyway, I think the thing for me is that Cuba is sort of all Hetalia-alone in the Caribbean--I keep forgetting about him (same with Seychelles although I've seen her historical connection with France and England explored to some extent in fandom before and that sort of puts her on the radar for me a tad bit more) because he doesn't have any canon neighbors except America and Canada to interact with, and America tends to shun him and I don't know enough about his history or relations with Canada to really get interested (plus I can't really ship them for some reason; they get cute fic, but it doesn't spark for me, and there isn't enough brofic), and most people don't bother to write any of it into their fic.

I LOVE CUBA. I want him to be my Latino bro. J-just sometimes I forget about him.

I think I'll start stalking his pixiv tag...

I like him well enough, but I don't really ship him with anyone; when it comes to his interaction with Canada though, I love bromance and friendshippy stuff.

Unfortunately I haven't really come across much Cuba in general. Quite a shame.
