Turns out the LJ mod has troubles with posting on DW, which is definitely a barrier to a move.

Probably 80% of the time posting anon works fine, but for some reason when I try to use an account it gives me errors, like freezes when I try to post a comment--kind of like how LJ does sometimes, where you 'post comment' and it looks all grey/pushed but then goes nowhere and doesn't post--and the same with attempting posts.

I'm thinking about putting in a support ticket about this, since it's definitely an issue that needs to be fixed, but I haven't had this problem myself.

Has anyone here experienced it?

I do every once in a while too. I think it might be a browser issue since when I update my browser it doesn't happen for a while, then happens again, then doesn't, etc.

Thinking about transferring my LJ account over. What happens to icons and comments when I do?

With icons, you can import them along with the entries. But if you have more than DW allows, then it might get tricky. Haven't looked that up.

Comments transfer over as OpenID. So, you get the text, basically.

For an example, here's Norway's journal after I transferred it over (though I will need to do so again soon). And an entry for comment example.

The LJ site gets more traffic, especially when it's evening in the Americas, but there are people here every now and then.

Myself, I tend to go here during the workday (we've been slow lately) because the LJ meme is NSFW but this one is fine, and I'm bored as hell.
