It's a brand new day and the sun is high! All the bird's are singing because we've moved on from Livejournal!

It's our first post on Dreamwidth, meme! I'm excited! I'm scared! I'm imagining the meme getting ready for a totally crazy 80s prom by getting a music montage makeover, complete with scrunchy and neon-blue denim jacket!

I don't know what to say! Please forgive any growing pains we might have, probably due to my newness to Dreamwidth. Other than that...

You're a busy nation, I know.

Ah, yes- but we are all busy nations, of course. Except for Preußen.

But excuse me; how are you, Ukraine?

There are times in which he's busy as well, yes?

But, um, I've been alright. Busy with things. Nothing terribly important.

[just going through some human rights violations and having the EU breathing down her neck]

Busy, perhaps, but not with anything he should be.

Yes, day to day business can become repetitive. I find myself needing to recharge, as it were. Do you find the time for personal pursuits?

[He's just making conversation in between eating a lot more than he really should]

Well, um, I try to make time for my garden. This year I decided to plant a few more flowers in different colors.

And you? Have you been keeping up with the piano?

Ah, I did not know you were a horticulturalist, I enjoy gardening myself. What are you growing this spring?

Naturally, naturally. Though lately I am drawn to the cello.

Ah, I remember when my sister began with the cello. It's a wonderful instrument.

My favorites this season have been lisianthus although they are far from colorful, freesia, and hydrangeas. Every year I plant irises and gladiolas, but I added a few more.

Does she still play? What about yourself?

[He's full for now, but he's content to sit and drink tea. Calm conversation is preferable to the rest of this meeting]

No spring garden should be without irises, of course. Blue hydrangeas are quite beautiful, aren't they? And lisianthus- striking even with limited colours, I find.

Occasionally. When she has time. I think she prefers that to the violin at times.
Ah, me? No, I'm no good with instruments. Singing and dancing are usually my contributions.

[nods]

The blue have been my favorites, but they look lovely when surrounded by the whites and pinks and purples.
Do you have any favorites?

A pleasant voice is as fine an instrument as any other. Ballroom dance, or something traditional to your house?

Personally I favour bluebells and lavender, and I enjoy jasmine for the scent. Orange blossom is rather nice, as well. Useful for baking.

[tries to politely giggle]

It's been a rather long time since I last ballroom danced.

Ah, bluebells should be another one that I add in and I've never thought of orange blossoms. I have eaten a cake once with orange blossoms and it was delightful.

I don't keep up with it as much as I would like. Do you not enjoy it?

The honey produced with the blossom is quite something. Of course, raising the orange tree from the sapling is a bit more effort than planting flowers, but perhaps an orchard could be of use if you simply wish to collect some blossoms.

They are not as expensive as you might think, you know.

Time. Money. Things like that. I enjoy it, but it's a bit difficult for me to manage.

Oh.

I-I don't believe I have the space for something such as that.

Time is difficult to manage, but I see no reason for money to be an obstacle, if you merely wish to practice. Are you in need of lessons?

Oh, I don't have one at the house, it was over at Italien's place- though I sold it on, of course. For a profit, I might add.

[He just bought it when he was in the mood for a particular dessert one summer]

I-it's been so long since I've had lessons so, um, perhaps.

Of course that's one option.
Perhaps it might be better to start small in that respect.

You could try simply planting a sapling.

Ah...if you require instruction, I could spare the time occasionally. If you are interested, of course.

That doesn't seem so difficult, although I must admit that I'm no good with trees.

I-if you don't mind. I would enjoy learning again.

It really isn't too much trouble, especially once it reaches a certain size.

I would appreciate the opportunity to practice, really. We should arrange a convenient schedule when we get the chance.

[Ah, he's done with his tea, and it looks like the meeting was a disaster and nothing got done. Typical]
