part 333 wild ponies running free across the plain

Hi meme! How was your week? Mine was interesting. I just made pad thai noodles (this wasn't the interesting part) but the noodles came out too rubbery/chewy and I am disappointed. I'm also on an Izumi Yukimura kick today! Are you on any particular music kicks? (Also, man I wish you could embed videos on Dreamwidth! A gal can dream, I guess.)

Enjoy part 333!

A lot of my interest in him at first came from his design - I think it's pretty cool, I love his mask, the haircurl is cute, I like designs that give the male nations facial hair

I think it's interesting how France was so scared of him in that one Christmas thing and revving himself up to take Turkey's mask, but then Turkey shows up without his mask anyway like it's nbd even though he supposedly never takes it off

It's not to the extent of Russia - some other nations being a bit wary of him, maybe a bit scared (I would say residue from being the Ottoman Empire maybe), but he's just this friendly uncle type guy who, nevertheless, can give a thief a total beat down like when Italy and Germany were visiting.

I love how friendly and easygoing he is, and how we've seen that he'll just invite himself over like the Christmas he showed up to bother the Nordics, because that's such a Turkish thing - you have to bother go see how your friends are doing frequently because if you don't, they'll think you don't care. And like other Anon said, he's also really nosy and gossipy. He wants to know everything personal in your life and thinks it's nbd to spread anything around because people knowing and talking about it means they care about you (in part, though it's not always that simple/innocent)

His rivalry with Greece is also pretty funny, because it's so dumb and they argue about the stupidest things. He's really competitive and loves to show off and be number one, but if he can't be, he'll settle for just beating Greece at least. But they don't even hate each other 100% even if they like to pretend they do, like in that hamam strip.

And can't forget how he was beat up by Chibitalia back when he was still the Empire, and little Greece managed to annoy him so much. I don't think he actively dislikes children, but they get under his skin really easily, like I think he's the type to act like a really friendly uncle and while sometimes that works, they just as often kick him in the shins. He'd also totally be guilty of feeding children way too many sweets and then not being able to handle the resulting sugar rush.

Inspired by the identity thread.

It seems like dw also eats comments. I had to log in to see some of them.

Huh, hadn't heard of that before! That's weird. Maybe put in a support ticket?

yes

I have some distinctive word quirks so I avoid those when I'm posting anon.

yeah sometimes I vary how/when I capitalize letters and some symbols I use. The only thing is sometimes I forget what I was doing and it varies from reply to reply but then at least it's still inconsistent

Nope. Too much effort. I have no doubt that I'm easy to pick out of a crowd for anyone who knows I'm here.

I don't even know who some of them are but I can still recognize them from their comments, especially if they have obvious typing quirks.

I'm way too lazy for that.

Yeahhh I just.... yeah.

On the one hand I feel bad for scaring you away or whatever. xD On the other hand... I haven't seen many good portrayals, so it's probably for the better.

Let's just hope there is never a strip of it.

The time France and Monaco fought over income taxes.

Himalaya doesn't say what was actually going on and kinda makes it look like France was victimized by her unwillingness to cooperate by imposing an income tax on foreign companies, and that he, the super responsible big brother, just took a step back for a few days to let Monaco cool off and think about things, and during that time she realized she couldn't function in the slightest without him.

The problem is that that wasn't what happened at all; a ton of pressure was being placed on Monaco in the form of heavily-guarded borders and the threat of France actually sending in troops, as well as shutting off electricity and water to the principality if Monaco didn't concede.

Are you sure you just didn't refresh? Sometimes I have to refresh twice to see them, since the refresh can be a bit buggy.

Give me a goofy two-part strip about the signing and revision of the Treaty of Trodesillas and I will die happy.

More 1600s northern Europe, please.

In terms of specifics I'm kind of curious about what Himaruya's interpretation of the Battle of the Sound would be like. .... Well, okay, fanwork about that would be cool too.
To be honest I'd actually love anything from around that time with Netherlands and Denmark, ahhh.

Also, some historical Norway VS Sweden stuff. Probably 1600s, though something else would probably work. ... I confess, I just want to see them interacting. Preferably fighting. For, um, reasons.
(edit) I was thinking of canon strips when I typed this, but fanworks would be awesome too.

I just like Norway getting his ass kicked, I guess.
