part 333 wild ponies running free across the plain

Hi meme! How was your week? Mine was interesting. I just made pad thai noodles (this wasn't the interesting part) but the noodles came out too rubbery/chewy and I am disappointed. I'm also on an Izumi Yukimura kick today! Are you on any particular music kicks? (Also, man I wish you could embed videos on Dreamwidth! A gal can dream, I guess.)

Enjoy part 333!

I think so. If the male nations can in theory get ladies pregnant, then female nations should in theory be able to be impregnated. Maybe it doesn't happen often, we don't really see what the gals get up to behind the scenes and they may be good about using protection or they just don't get up to as many shenanigans as France. (quite plausible.)

A female nation birthing another nation is very rare, though, and only happens when it is historically appropriate. They of course would not know, like "oops looks like i'm on the cusp of historical change, better get crackin on that nationbaby," it's like... an occurrence that only makes sense in retrospect. I think only a few of them (ie some of the Ancients) have ever really had nationbabies. There have only been a few reasons for that to happen so far, intense cultural and historical changes that have warranted an entirely new representative nation.

I can agree with this. I think they've had adopted babies too, but babies with the same name as themselves were born naturally?

They could certainly adopt or take under their wing a younger nation--or heck, a young monarch??--for various reasons. Vassal states or hostile takeovers or simply by dint of them being the eldest nation in the area... But yeah, only their direct successors were born by them naturally.
