This is a very rambling post today, I'm sorry, I'm in a tired rush. A tired tired summer rush. Which, in my professional opinion, is the most annoying kind of rush. I prefer a crisp winter rush! But oh well.

Yes, I know. Nations resurrect, while we lowly humans cannot. /pause/ Though, ah, I've done so twice, before. I expect it to happen again, when this is all over, as it only happens here.

Better than nothin. Can still use it to defend yourself! Some people enjoy torturing horribly before the final blow, so be ready to kill!

Those rounds can be used to explode targets far away. Just be careful it's pointed in the right direction!

[he'll probably be able to figure it out, he knows how to use cannons, for sieging]

Hm, guess I'll use it if there's a horde of enemies attackin me.

...So you don't know how to use even a hatchet.

[he doesn't want to give her any false hopes, even if she comes along and he offers protection. she can't fight and he's sure she won't be able to keep up with him through the forests, rivers, deserts and hills. the elements are against her as well as the enemies]

So are you. The odds are stacked against everyone, don't doubt that you're vulnerable yourself.

/She shrugs and slides the hatchet back into her bag./

The only difference is how you treat it. Shall you do your best to slaughter all you come across? Hide and keep yourself safe? Kill yourself to get it over with? Have fun with it?

I prefer the last option personally.

/She shoulders her bag./

I suppose it will make a nice gift then for whoever ends me.

I've fought wars and lived through them, I don't plan on dyin.

[takes a few steps closer to her]

I can give you a quick painless death...

[he figures it'd be preferable to her slowly bleeding to death or from sickness]

Though dear I do not consider asphyxiation a "quick" nor "painless" death. Besides, killing me so early? Tsk. You'll make me miss everything!

[grins at her expectation to witness death and destruction] You'd make a good fighter, it's too bad. [he reaches to out to give her cheek a chaste stroke. partly wanting to see if she's trembling and is just frozen from fear]

[afterwards, he gets more serious] You might not come back to life this time.

/She might be trembling slightly but she's not frozen, and certainly not in fear. She turns toward his touch./

Would you be able to do it if you knew I wouldn't?

/And she's curious what he would do if he wasn't going to choke her. But she'll keep that question to herself./

[his hand pauses, and catches himself before saying that he's done it before, but she probably already knows]

Yeah, I would.

[he thinks it'd be better if at least her last moments weren't in agony from stabbing wounds or snake venom. it's not like he's afraid of her killing him. and he doesn't think there's anyone of his family here for her to hurt]

[she gets another small laugh for that, though her words don't really convince him about seeing her again]
