This is a very rambling post today, I'm sorry, I'm in a tired rush. A tired tired summer rush. Which, in my professional opinion, is the most annoying kind of rush. I prefer a crisp winter rush! But oh well.

[And he's quickly turned into a sack of potatoes, bouncing with your steps from his perch on your shoulder]

[Not that he can complain about a free ride, he's actually pretty exhausted, but-]

Ah-! You're gonna go the wrong way!

[Tapping on your shoulder and trying to point you to where he wants to go instead, but that's behind you now and it's probably not doing much good]

[Just. Slumps down on your shoulder, sighing. Well, hopefully they'll find something to eat wherever they go. At least he's not putting up much of a fight]

[he's thankful you're not putting up a fight, and shows his appreciation with a firm butt pat]

We will locate food somehow.

[hesitates before speaking again]

...there is a different way to obtain supplies.

[Oh. Now he's listening. So far his foray into trying to hunt hasn't gone well and he'd almost rather starve than need to eat more of these awful cookies]

You know where to get stuff?

[He tries to turn around, look back at you, but it's impossible like this and he drops back down. This is all too much effort, forget it he's just letting you do what you want and not moving until you put him back down whenever]

...we steal it.

[he's been trying to be an upstanding and honest nation these days, but when the going gets tough, it's hard not to revert to old habits]

[And shrugs. Just looks like a building to him, plenty of abandoned places around here]

Dunno, maybe they've got food inside...

[He'll take your hand then, continuing that direction until they make it to the door, giving a nod for you to go ahead first]
