part 335 summer nights (tell me more tell me more)

Like did he have a car? Dodo--dodo--dodo... yeah! How is your July going so far, meme? Good? Bad? Okay? Scrumtrulescent? ... Question mark? This is a very rambling post today, I'm sorry, I'm in a tired rush. A tired tired summer rush. Which, in my professional opinion, is the most annoying kind of rush. I prefer a crisp winter rush! But oh well.

Enjoy part 335!

I think it may be because in canon for a while Russia seemed to be the only "scary" nation - for example, we got a serious scene with Lithuania's scars from his time with Russia, but Spain getting beaten up on England's orders is kind of played for laughs, and of course all the teenage Europeans kicking each other around is all portrayed as more of an even playing field vs Russia controlling/bullying the soviet states. I don't think we even see Germany beating up other nations in WWII (correct me if I'm wrong, and I might well be - been a while since I read the old strips), while we do see him tied up being interrogated, so you don't really get Germany-as-aggressor in canon. I think besides Russia, the one other nation to get the "scary" treatment is Japan - but Japan's not often shown in wfen, period.

But, yeah, the fact is nations live such freaking long lives and none of them are saints - notice that even in Russia/Prussia, little Prussia liked to bully little Russia, for example - that if you tried to avoid all the ships with historical problems/conflicts/etc, you wouldn't have a lot to choose from unless you went for ones with little historical contact to begin with.
