This is a very rambling post today, I'm sorry, I'm in a tired rush. A tired tired summer rush. Which, in my professional opinion, is the most annoying kind of rush. I prefer a crisp winter rush! But oh well.

[ normally he'd say something along the lines of "I hope you've been well" but obviously that's not the case, here. ]

How -- how have you been faring, Turkey-san...?

[attaturk]

Not too bad, considering. Ran outta water in that jungle out there, so here I am!

[stares at you as he talks but he doesn't think you look very threatening at the moment, and after all you're his friend; you wouldn't hurt him, surely]

How 'bout you? Heard you got some kinda monster sheep. That true?

[having determined your threat level to be low, he crouches down at the water's edge to refill his bottles as he waits for your answer]

[ he couldn't hurt Turkey even if he wanted to; considering his weapon is hidden with his bag. ]

[ but he'll shift a bit straighter at Turkey's mention of the tentacle sheep. His collar is more visible now; above the water. ]

It is. I was helping Monaco-san, since it attacked her...

[ ...and, he's glad that Turkey hasn't seemed to have had any dramatic encounters; yet. So far. Considering who he is... ]

[ ...he lets out a breath, almost with something like relief; and smiles, feeling less awkward now. Turkey is a friend, after all. ]

Are you really only here for water, Turkey-san? You should bathe, as well.

Heh, bet she appreciated that!

[he's cheered to hear Japan was acting in the defense of someone else, though when he spies his collar he can't help playing with the collar of his shirt, the top few buttons of which are already undone (the tie he got rid of long ago)]

I was. Are you tryin' to say I stink or somethin'? [sniffs at an armpit and makes a face] ...Well, maybe I do, but anyone would!

[finishes filling up his last water bottle before he straightens up and deposits his bag and weapon at the base of a nearby tree and removes his shirt, shoes, and socks so he can join Japan in the water]

I would hope so, as it seemed to be quite a dangerous foe at the time.

[ and now that he thinks about it, that uniform doesn't really suit Turkey... ]

[ he'll draw a bit closer, now, to the water's edge and Turkey, too. Though he pauses and almost makes a face when Turkey sniffs at himself, but catches himself in time; trying to keep a straight face instead. ]

I wasn't saying that, Turkey-san! Rather, baths are quite important...

[ he has strong feelings about baths? ]

-- It is important to relax the body as well as the mind by taking at least one bath a day...!

[ ...very strong feelings. He's even looking quite certain as he says it, clenching a fist. ]

[rolls up the legs of his pants to just below his knees before he returns to the water's edge]

[but he laughs when he catches sight of Japan's face,nearly bent double]

Vay, vay! If only I had a camera right now, I'd take a picture a that face! You don't gotta tell me about baths. What I wouldn't give to be in a hamam right now...!

[rolls his shoulders trying to crack his back, thinking of hot water, steam, and massages]

[ ...and he loses his straight face and his fist unclenches, the moment Turkey begins laughing; now looking dismayed. ]

Please do not laugh, Turkey-san...! And -- I would hope you'd refrain from actually taking such a picture...!

[ ...Turkey wouldn't refrain from that, probably. He sighs, now, and he'd almost be pouting if he allowed himself to. Instead he'll just cross his arms across his chest and frown. ]

...But I am glad that you at least share my point of view, even now.

[ even with this "battle royale" going on, he still considers his baths important. Maybe they shouldn't be such a high priority for the moment, but... this is offering him the chance to relax and not think of what everyone else might be doing; right about now. He can appreciate that. And Turkey is here with him as a friend -- and not out there, killing because he must... ]

[ ...he sighs again, now trying to not think of that. His arms fall to his sides. ]

[laughs again, despite Japan's request, and unaware of his inner musings, Turkey is having a problem of his own]

[sticks a foot into the water experimentally and immediately yanks it back out]

Damn, it's cold!

[attaturk]

[reluctantly shuffles in up to his knees, grumbling all the while, and scoops up water to wash his maskless face - it's been missing since he woke up - and to scrub it through his hair. he's about to pour a cupped palm of water onto the back of his neck when he freezes, head bowed]

[for the first time his voice conveys the full seriousness of their situation]

These things they've got us wearin'. They're waterproof, right?

[ the second laugh does earn Turkey a facefault, but then he simply stares at his friend as Turkey enters the lake and washes; his smile almost returning to his face with his amusement. But the question has him focus more, looking more serious again, and he replies almost immediately: ]

I'm... quite certain...

[ ...are they? He frowns, in thought -- ]

I'm quite certain some water may have gotten on mine earlier, but... nothing happened...

[ It's not even beeping strangely. Or showing any sign of reaction. ]

And that was quite a while before you showed up, Turkey-san...

-- Regardless, we should probably take caution and not soak them.

[attaturk]

[nods in understanding and lets the water trickle through his fingers, rubbing a wet hand roughly along the back of his neck instead, mindful of his curl]

[looks up again with a grin, belying the seriousness of the moment before]

So this game! Thought it was a hidden camera show at first, but it seems it's real, huh?

[his tone is light and though Japan's response to his previous question has served to all but confirm his worst fears... he needs to hear an outright answer again]

[jipangu]

[ ...and Japan will give him that outright answer, directly holding his gaze. ]

...Yes, it is most certainly real. That -- sheep was enough to confirm it... for me.

[ ... ] [ but this conversation has quickly turned depressing. ]

Perhaps we should put that out of our minds and focus on our baths, now.

-- Even if the water is cold, the weather is nice today, after all.

[attaturk]

[holds Japan's gaze until he changes the subject, then blinks up at the sky, squinting at the sun]

I dunno - think the sun's hot enough it'll dry these fast enough?

[pats his still trousered thigh once, twice, and absentmindedly scratches his chest]

Don't wanna catch cold if it takes too long to dry!

[normally he wouldn't mind stripping down to his underwear, but the thought of that when he's just learned the game is deadly serious is too much to bare]
