As someone who's two favorite Hetalia characters are also countries I'm interested in I really see nothing wrong with it

Like anon said people don't get interested in something unless they've encountered it somewhere and cause them to want to learn more

I mean so long as you're aware there's a difference between the character and the country itself but that goes without saying
