The idea that people would lose their shit is silly. It would make more sense if the personification of a nation was shown to actually run their own nation in Hetalia. But they don't run their own nation, they just personify it and fight in battles sometimes.

I can see the people refusing to let their nations fight, though, if they were female.

Even Monaco was a knight at some point, though. In the 1300's.

Actually, the guy she was dressed as in that picture was an admiral, not a knight!

Idk, I always saw nations going into battle with their people as more of a symbolic gesture, since they can't really die in the same way.
