also I sometimes think their dynamic would change a lot because Romano does treat girls differently in canon

like, he would try to woo her sometimes because she's a woman and he's a man (dammit) and Spain would find it cute for a while but then she would get pissed because she realizes he's be just treating her like he treats all other girls, so she will do her best to rile him up until he goes right back at being a little shit to her because she realizes this means he's considering her a friend first and foremost

also he's jealous enough of male!Spain, but if fem!Spain did as much as talk about his brother he would FLIP HIS SHIT NOT EVEN KIDDING and have a crisis and then probably even leave her while she wonders wtf she was just having some fun, man

and he will feel better for a while and wonder why he was even bothering with the weird manly football playing trolling girlfriend

and she would be wondering why she even bothered with the neurotic jealous more-girly-than-her little boy who can't even treat her right

and then one day he sees her walking around in a little red dress and falls in love all over again and puts on a nice suit and woos her a little bit and they're back to square one

or, she would woo him when she misses him and he'd be capricious and all like "women can't woo men" but she would sweep him off his feet and he would huffily admit he likes her best but she's still annoying and yeah, back to square one again

She would also be much stronger than him anyways. She could tumble him to the floor with just one hand. Romano doesn't know how to feel about this. But Spain finds his skinny frame cute, maybe because she's surrounded by muscular men (and women).

YES OF COURSE she's stronger than him and the times they sparred together were the most awkward-bonerric of Romano's already awkward-bonerriffic teenage years because WEIRD MUSCLY WOMAN BEATING ME UP BUT IT'S STILL BOOBS????

and she would be making comments like "but you're so slim I bet you could fit in my dresses better than me!" or "you're so lucky, you're so much less hairy than me!" and she totally means it as honest compliments because she thinks Romano looks very elegant and graceful but he runs to the bathroom crying

Especially when her clothes clinged to her body due to all the sweat. Boner intensifies. Plus, while she can clean up nicely when the occasion requires it she mostly dresses with black pants and white shirts like his male counterpart. White shirts unbuttoned that become more transparent when they get wet. Boner intesifies. She also has one of those wonderfully toned bodies from doing so much exercise BONER INTENSIFIES.
