i can see it but like above anons said makoto is legit a really nice, kind guy. not saying spain's not, exactly, but spain is less responsible and potentially less kind overall so much as affectionate toward the ones he likes/finds cute. makoto also seems much more perceptive about the needs of other people, more easily scared, and worries after others whereas spain's that guy who needs his friend to bring him his pants during the christmas event.
