part 340 tender lumplings everywhere

The best season is coming, meme! Halloween season! I mean... fall! Yeah, fall. I love the fall. I actually like every season in its own way, but I think fall has the best atmosphere. Crunching leaves and pumpkins and excuses to decorate the outside of your house with fake spider webs and zombie hands. Also it means... Hetalia Halloween fanart! (Maybe even... something from Himaruya? Maybe? Bueller? No?)

Enjoy part 340!

My advice is a long winding one, but the most common advice you're going to find is concentrate on breathing and muscle relaxing techniques. If that doesn't work, which it often does not, I suggest rerouting your thoughts/examining your real fear. You're very unlikely to be scared of THE phone or THE person on the other line, it's usually deeper than that and you'll end up anxiety-ception by the end of it.

Write a list of the fears coursing through you when you're on the phone. For example, if you are scared of being judged by the person, write that down. Whatever the fear is, write them down and then put them in a list of 'priority', meaning what scares you the most. This helps you rationale the fear and gives you the ability to examine if they are legitimate dangers, as in, ones that might end a career and/or your life, or if they irrationalize. This will help you 'self talk'. What this means is be able to talk yourself down from the anxiety/the panic attack.

Getting rid of any anxiety is about re-writing the 'script' in your mind. Instead of, when you talk on the phone 'i'm scared and anxious because of A, B, and C', instead try and think 'I'll be alright. I am in no danger, this will help me with my people skills and though scary, I can do it'. It's a slow process, but it's possible. If the anxiety is completely unmanageable, you may want to look into Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and/or light medications. I do not suggest long term SSRIs such as Paxil as they are addictive (says the one on it) since they're really only for extreme cases where you cannot get out of bed each day.

Good luck!

That's wonderful advice ;o; I'll keep it in mind for next time I need it.
