Pissy as they sound, they're right. They shouldn't be making money off of someone else's characters. I don't think fanartists should have rights over anything whatsoever, tbh. They're drawing someone else's character. You can get angry when someone takes your art and claims outright that it's theirs, but if someone just reposts it without crediting you I say you can be mad and call them out on it or ask them, but don't act like their stealing your intellectual property. They're not.

This is a divisive issue, I know, but that's where I stand on it. In conclusion yes it sucks and I understand you wanting to be credited, but stop acting like your intellectual property has been stolen when the characters aren't even yours.

is does tho. when you throw a fit because someone posted a fanwork of yours, your basically saying it belongs to you. and the making of it does, which is why it's not okay to claim that you made something you didn't, but the characters, the personalities, the source you got the idea for your fanwork from? they're not yours. they're someone else, someone who took the time to create them and the money publish them and in most cases to copyright them. they are not yours to lose in the first place, ego nothing is taken from you when someone simply reposts your cute little comic about rei humping sinjis asshole.

Sweetheart, just because a fanartist asked you not to repost their fanart on your Tumblr doesn't mean they're the devil incarnate. Take your vendetta elsewhere.
