part 343 pieces of discounted Halloween candy

stock up while it's on sale! Anyway: I. can't. believe. it. I really can't. I mean, I do believe it. So I guess I can believe it. But STILL. I've been saying all month that we'd get doodles, if anything, but--AN EVENT. An event! <>A real event. With ghosts! And mysterious happenings! And Hong Kong being a butt! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Enjoy part 343!

It's basically saying that Thanksgiving used to be a real holiday where almost everything was closed or closed very early, so that the workers would be allowed to have Thanksgiving off, have Thanksgiving with their families, etc. But now, with the popularity of "BLACK FRIDAY" and now "BLACK THURSDAY" savings, more and more stores are having their workers work all day (sometimes even after midnight, for 'black friday') on Thanksgiving rather than give them the holiday off.

As someone who worked in retail, you only get Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter off for the entire year. Vacations is a laughable notion in retail. Hell, taking sick days off is a laughable notion and I was forced to quit one retail job because I was too sick to work because of a throat infection and I could barely made it to the bathroom across the hall on time much less walking and standing on my feet for seven hours.

So yeah, it's pretty shitty of stores basically forcing workers to work on a holiday they used to get off because of Black Friday.
