on my little boat on the meme! How was your weekend, meme? Good, I hope! I am LOVING these updates, by the way! I feel like it's Christmas! But in October and November! It's really refreshing to have new material and it kinda feels like a ~rejuvenation~ in the fandom! Well... anywho!

If it didn't understand then why would it listen? Maybe it understood but just did what it wanted anyways.

[He tilts his head curiously, thinking about this strange monster and Japan's connection with it.]

Ahhh....so it was very rough?

[He's asking these questions way too directly and even he's got a little flush of pink on his cheeks at this point. It doesn't seem to stop his interest, though.]

So this is the reason you're upset. That makes sense, I think!

[ if Russia's cheeks are pink, Japan's cheeks are also certainly pink by this point. ]

[ crossing his arms now, sighing to himself and closing his eyes, frustrated. ]

Yes, it quite makes sense. So, I suppose I can only submit to this pain and stress... at least, until it heals, and goes away...

You know what might take the edge off of pain?

[Not that he knows much about....this brand of pain but he can offer this at least.]

A good drink!

[He digs his hand inside of his coat and it emerges wrapped around the neck of a vodka bottle.]

I forgot that I had more in my coat! It is not the good stuff I lost, but it is better than nothing!

[ blinks quickly, eyes focusing on the bottle! And then he just looks... slightly confused, slightly intrigued? ]

...You are asking for me to -- drink with you?

[ is he hearing that right? ]

That is normally what offering a bottle of alcohol means. Is it a strange thing for me to ask?

[He dangles the bottle in front of you invitingly. Look how beautiful and crystal clear it looks!]

Better than drinking alone!

[ it is... quite tempting...! He could use a drink to relax, now that he thinks about it -- ]

[ sighs. Uncrosses his arms and lowers them to his sides. ]

If Russia-san insists, then...

That hesitation makes me self-conscious!

[But he beams when Japan agrees, and he tugs at Japan's sleeve and encourages him to plop down right on the floor.]

I do, I do insist! Come on then, I...hmm, I don't have any glasses. Do you have glasses? We could always drink from the bottle.

[ your noting of his hesitation makes him self-conscious!! ]

[ but suddenly he's tugged and on the floor and ouch and wait, should he sit in the seiza position here, there's nowhere else to sit comfortably and politely... ]

[ moves to sit in seiza! -- ouuuch. Wincing terribly now. Perhaps that was a bad idea... ]

I -- I'm afraid I [ twitch, twitch ] do not have any glasses, myself...

[ he thought Russia would have some buried in his coat again...! ]

[He doesn't seem to notice that pain as he hums and digs around in his coat.]

I have.....one little cup! We can take turns!

[Looks at the glass, then looks at Japan.]

You can go first. You are needing it more, I think.

[He tilts the mouth of the bottle over the little cup, filling it to the brim with clear alcohol and then handing it over.]

Drink your medicine.

[ Another wince, but, oh -- Russia found a cup and is offering it to him -- ]

[ he receives it without complaint now, stares down at it -- then up at Russia. He'll hold Russia's gaze for a long moment... ]

...Thank you.

[ and, he takes a sip. It burns his throat at first -- but he gets it down without too much difficulty. It's only polite to thank someone for offering him a drink, after all... And then, he'll pass it back to Russia. ]

[He'll hold that gaze right back and maybe that's a little intimidating. Don't ever get into a staring contest with this one.]

It is no problem! Like I said, drinking alone makes one look like a very big loser, yes? I'm not a very big loser.

[He sounds slightly defensive at that, taking the cup back and filling it again so he can down it smoothly.]

It's good, isn't it? My vodka is the very best and if anyone tells you otherwise they are wrong. Don't listen to Poland. He lies.

[ "A little" intimidating... well, he's glancing down now, anyhow. ]

[ but Russia-san sounds rather defensive, doesn't he? ]

I did not hear anything from Poland-san. [ he really hasn't. ]

Russia-san certainly holds his vodka in high regard...

[ he pauses for a moment to consider... ]

-- But, it is quite good.

[ strong, but quite good. And it had taken his mind off the pain, for a second -- ]

[ ...and then he twitches again. Ouch. Moves to come out of seiza, now... ]

[Not defensive at all, shhhh.]

I hold it in high regard because it is best! Even you think so.

[He puffs his chest out proudly at the praise as if he made that vodka himself.]

Goes down smooth, yes? Is it making you feel better?

[He sees that wince and he might look sliiiiiiightly amused as Japan moves out of that position.]

You're needing more. Here.

[He hands out the newly filled glass.]

[ he didn't exactly say it was the "best"... to him, sake is one of the best! And it didn't exactly go down smoothly with that first sip... but he'll refrain from saying so as he settles while sitting cross-legged, and then reaches out to receive the glass with both hands. ]

I suppose so... Thank you. [ and he moves his hands to bring the glass to his lips, sipping it down. ]

[ he drank at a slightly faster pace this time... it still burns a bit, but at least he's sitting in a better position now. No wincing this time! (Thankfully for him...) ]

[ and then he passes it back, again, with both hands. ] Go on, Russia-san.

[He's going to pretend Japan thinks it's the best, shhh.]

I wonder how much of this you can take. You don't seem like the type that can hold alcohol well.

[He receives the cup happily and fills it until some of the vodka is sloshing over. Down the hatch! He clearly does this a lot.]

It's okay if you get drunk, by the way. I think it would be very amusing to witness~

[He looks over Japan as if just waiting for that booze to start kicking in.]

[ it's not kicking in just yet, but he's getting there... it might show with his direct bluntness. ]

I can drink much if I allow myself to.

[ really, he can drink far into the night if he really wanted to! To the point where perhaps he might even be a close contender in winning drinking contests, when it comes to the amount of drinks. But, no, he doesn't hold it very well for long. Between two and three drinks is usually when he begins to get tipsy, and by four or five or so he's going all out. ]

If I do become drunk, I apologize.

[ he's also blunt in stating that. ]

Can you? But you're so small! Then again, so is Latvia and his drinking is very impressive indeed. I don't know how that little body handles all of that it really is impressive....

[The rambling means the alcohol is starting to take effect just a little bit. He stops only to laugh at that apology.]

There is nothing to apologize for! Like I said, I would like to see it. Will you become very cheerful or very somber, I wonder? I want to see you cheerful and silly!

[Fills the cup all the way and hands it over eagerly. Get drunk faster!]

[ he'll still accept the drink carefully with both hands. But, he's sipping at a more relaxed, smooth pace, now. After he finishes, he'll pass it back, while pondering what Russia said. ]

The size of the body does not always matter...

And, I cannot say how I might act, but... I have been told I am lighthearted when I become drunk.

[ so, cheerful and silly just may fit that! ]

-- But, I can also become emotional rather easily, so... please forgive me if I do. [ and once again, an apology...! ]

[ (usually, it's "emotional" over completely insignificant things, though...) ]

Lighthearted! That sounds fun! You always seem so...blank. That is the right word. You need to get excited about more things and smile more.

[Reaches over to poke Japan's side yet again, then offers him another shot right after the other. It seems he's intent on getting the other drunk now.]

Drink drink! I want to see the lightheartedness! And the emotional things! Do you cry over a glass of spilled milk? Or thinking about how many bugs you might crush with every step?

[ at the poke he does noticeably glower a bit, but the look quickly vanishes when Russia holds out the next shot... and without thinking about how Russia didn't have one after him, he accepts it. ]

It is more like I become emotional over entertainment media...

[ like ero-games... hopefully Russia won't have to comfort him about one. ]

-- But, why is Russia-san so interested in seeing me become lighthearted?

[ he's rather confused by that! Is it really just because it's different from how he normally acts? He begins sipping the current shot, and his cheeks are flushing more noticeably pink now. ]

Ufu, so you cry over romantic movies and such? I can't picture it!

[He watches carefully, taking note of the way Japan's cheeks are going pink. Looks like he'll get to see that lightheartedness after all!]

Mmm, I want to see it because it would be very different. I want to see how it looks on you.

[He laughs then, taking a swig out of the bottle while Japan sips from the glass.]

Besides, smiling is good and fun and healthy and you always look like you're frowning! Don't you want to be lighthearted~?

[ the glass comes down from his lips, and he tilts his head a bit. He's a bit surprised at Russia drinking directly from the bottle... and Russia's responses in general. ]

They do not necessarily have to be "romantic"... [ simply dramatic works, too! ]

...And, smiling is not a bad thing, to me -- it is merely difficult to be so expressive?

Though, I can understand Russia-san's point.

[ he thinks! And he passes the glass back... ]
