How much do you still love the series? How actively do you participate in fandom? Is it your main fandom?

it's my main fandom, but at the moment i'm in a stew of extreme procrastination and am not participating in anything. unless you count reading fanfic and clicking the kudos button.

oh, and sacrificing memers to the great himaruya. if that's not proof of my devotion, what is?

Still love the series, still my main fandom. I guess it's always possible that I might find something that I'd want to replace it with, but it isn't likely to happen any time soon. Even if we aren't getting much new canon (and translations for the most recent volume seem to be coming at a snail's pace), that isn't really a factor for me.

The important part is having people to talk about it with - and I have that here.

I think I take to this series better when I'm binge-reading it. By the time a new chapter comes out, I tend to have forgotten the details of what happened in the previous one.

It's my main fandom and I still write fic, though not as much as I'd like because I'm lazy and my job keeps me busy. But I seriously love this series and its characters so, so much that I can't imagine getting into another fandom in a long time.

Today, my dash has been full of birthday wishes for Prussia and I'm just rolling all over in my emotions like HRE because aaahhh cute!

The manga adaption of Dangerous Liaisons. The art was great, but the story and characters did nothing for me. Reading it was an unpleasant experience since it was obvious from the start that it wouldn't have a happy ending. I wasn't familiar with the novel when I bought this, or otherwise I probably wouldn't have bothered.

Yowamushi Pedal volume 32

It was... decent? It hasn't been the same to me since the Inter-high arc concluded, but I'm starting to warm up to it (especially some characters I hadn't cared about much before)

What meme pairings have you seen happen over the years? I mean actual memers here. I was thinking about this last night when I realized that when I think about one person, another immediately pops into my head. Sort of like word association except with people.

none, since i don't follow twitter and such so i wouldn't know. i do recall hearing that two of the rpers started dating at some point, but i can't remember who. one of them was spain, but it's not our current spain, i think.

To be honest, if the meme didn't exist, I'd have completely moved on to different fandoms by now. I think my waning interest was caused by the combination of lacklustre BIRZ strips + lack of Himaruya + favorite doujinshi artists moving on + LJ friends disappearing. I still read most of the new strips, but I don't actively seek out fanwork or make any of my own anymore. Oh, but I still like to interact with RPers here from time to time because that's always fun.

i feel bad for the japanese/chinese/other primarily foreign-language artists on tumblr. like, i see their work that they're posting themselves get a fraction of the number of notes that reposts of their own same work receive when it's posted on a popular english-speaking tumblr.

similarly, i'm astounded at how my own work gets more notes too than some of this really much better drawn art... does the english caption make that much of a difference?

probably what it is is that people look at the style and assume it's an unsourced repost from pixiv rather than that the source IS that tumblr.
