What about the people who say they are Sami and protesting against the movie, especially the cultural appropriation? Not everyone is going to be happy.

Plus, people complained because it sucks that Disney once again made another all-White movie with not one but two White princess after another two movies with White princesses. Contrary to popular belief, this affects children of color negatively. Especially when they already shafting Tiana (who, I find myself kinda problematic herself because she spends a whopping amount of the Princess and the Frog as a frog).

I just hope that they don't Pocahontas 'Moana' in a some way. But it would be nice not to have a rash of White princess before giving the one princess of color before another glut of White princess, especially if they are token status. The fact Disney doesn't have a Latina princess is still troubling considering the Latino population of the US. I hope when they do, they have two princesses like Frozen where one is Brown and one is Black. And there's no bastardization of the Mexican Day of the Dead in sight.

No group is a monolith, of course there isn't a Sami hivemind agreement about the movie all in perfect harmony with each other. But what no one needs is Americans who never heard of the Sami until this movie talking over them.

And a movie of a Scandinavian story set in Scandinavia with characters from a Scandinavian minority is just about the stupidest place ever to complain about not featuring US "children of color". Although you seem to be super into counting up people/tokens and subsuming their whole character under a single fetishised aspect of their identity so..(I have to say I don't have much hope for Moana based on what's come out so far though, unfortunately.)
