Yes. I was near-obsessed with Sims 2 for much of college, but Sims 3 sims looked weird - and somehow the expressions were even more uncanny valley than Sims 2. But Sims 4 sims look pretty awesome to me to start with, and I'm sure with some custom content they could be even better.

I'm sad the "solo woohoo" was apparently only a joke. But I'm hoping the possibility of your sim's head literally exploding from too much anger is still in there because god I'm going to have so much fun with that. Watch out, England…! (And Romano too, and possibly Germany though I suspect Germany will escape rage-implosion via anger-venting workouts instead).

the only thing tat makes me :| is ONCE AGAIN they're taking away basic features that means we'll have to buy all the expansion packs again... I think at *least* weather/seasons should be in the base game.

There's a reason why EA holds the proud title of most hated company in America (I'm not kidding - evidently there was a poll at some point and they literally won as consumers' most hated company; I think their last sports game was so buggy and so poorly received that they had to give a public apology and promise to "fix it" after they'd already released it).

I don't necessarily mind the expansion setup, but the trouble is it locks them into predictable patterns. And after a certain point I'm with you, just give us the goddamn weather to begin with and make a new and innovative expansion pack that doesn't repeat the old.

But, I have faith in Sims' large and resourceful user community for hacking the hell out of the game (again) and finding ways around the Origin or Securom or whatever (again).

Yes yes exactly! Also, fuck that noise that piano playing was not available in the base game. I hate the guitar but I don't want to buy an expansion pack just for pianos. Sigh!

Oh, EA… I was initially disappointed to hear that the game was being pushed back to fall release, but considering EA's reputation for releasing games that are laggy, glitchy, and generally riddled with defects, I'm hoping the extra months might help them actually finish the game.

Preview clips show a violin, so at least that'll be in base game?

ACR made Sims 2 so much more entertaining! And the baby bbq - I don't think I even ended up downloading it but the fact that it existed makes my life that little touch brighter.

ACR was the best mod, it made all my toddler's birthday parties in my legacy neighbourhood dramatic affairs where everyone cheated on each other like some terrible soap opera. Good times.
