Even in winter it would melt, because it feels like springtime here. Springtime minus the rain, at least this year.

Very intuitive of you. Yes for the first question, no for the second. Far from it. But the lack of rain is worrying nonetheless.

Especially if this trend continues. Unlike the East coast, there's little humidity to bog down fires. And the wind certainly doesn't help.

Oh well, maybe that stubborn air current up north will let up by February and let some rain clouds down here.
