part 347 dimensions of sight and sound

and of mind. Do do do do do do do do do do do.

How was your end-of-December-into-January time, meme? Did you make any New Year's resolutions? Or light a candle in your window in the hopes that Himaruya would update again instead of leaving us behind like an 19th century light house keeper's wife whose husband has gone off to sea? ... Did you?

Enjoy part 347!

Since NBC's next live musical will be Peter Pan, does that mean they're going to do this number on live television?

Tumblr will be super mad

Though to be fair, that's an improvement over what it used to be

I heard they want to cast a male as Peter Pan and I do not see how it will work with this particular musical. The role was written for women playing little boys. It will look and sound very... awkward for a man to play the role.

A very talented young boy?

It's not that a boy couldn't sing or act, it's just... the way the role is written is for a woman. I can't imagine a boy being taken seriously flying in the air saying "oh, I'm sweet! I'm sweet!"

i think casting a boy would be best. ditto for wendy and the lost boys - it'd look and sound much better imo to have teens playing these characters.

They would have to alter the script radically if a boy played it. Especially if they get the MTI version, which isn't the version anon posted but the original Mary Martin version. (The other version that's toured a billion times is licensed by Cathy Rigby, and she would probably want to be producer, so IDK if NBC would want to do that.)

"I'm sweet, I'm sweet!" etc

Boys can play Peter, for sure. Just this particular musical version was written with a woman in mind and it really shows.
