YEAAAHH AGREED AND I'M GLAD becuase i didn't want to seem ungrateful by complaining since he gets drawn so much

But Ugh he's been looking pretty hideous in his drawings compared to everyone else, I can't enjoy it. It's just his face is so off balance and he draws his eyes crossed eyed and too spaced apart and narrow and then his hair is all over the place?? His sideburns make no sense... and eugh his chin is so anime while his neck/body is leaning towards more realism... compared to other characters, prussia really clashes with his simplified eyes.

Himaruya gets a D- for consistency, but an A+ for exploring styles

I think he's having trouble adjusting Prussia to his new ~bishie~ style and needs to relearn how to draw him...Definitely think with time he'll start looking good again ;-;

I thought he looked fine but looking again I can see your point. Even Russia has surpassed Prussia in handsome bishiness and if there's any character that Himaruya is inconsistent on style wise it's Russia.

AND GERMANY IS a little wonky but somtimes has his handsome moments, but yeah he keeps changing Russia's hair it's like a fucking free-for-all.

Sometimes Germany, because of his hair, has the WEIRDEST head shape and it makes me cry laughing. I think Himaruya even admitted that drawing Germany's hair was hard and that's probably why it looks so jacked up sometimes. Poor Germany always looks like a hash-brown head.

Russia has...changed a lot. Like a lot. Himaruya is never consistent on his hair or his nose size or even face shape sometimes and I don't understand what the problem is. Just like fans have a hard time drawing Russia I think even Himaruya has a hard time drawing Russia!

LMAO It's very weird and it's changed a lot too in the partings. But Y'know, wonkiness aside, Himaruya's art still has a charm that makes me like it a lot, I just wish it'd stabilize a more or himaruya himself would put more care into it like he used to. He struggles but he also doesn't really try?? He's constantly rushing to update he ends up changing the file a thousand times with edits.

I think the best sources to use to reference are the strips where it's really obvious that Himaruya spent meticulous time on. Like the character sheets we got






I think ultimately speak for what he had in mind more or less...though I don't think his style is quite there yet to always achieve it.

Prussia definitely looks more balanced there. He and Germany have that strange eye-shape that he and Poland have to deal with but it doesn't look quite as wonky and much more handsome. I think it might have something to do with the way the brow is shaped too, now that I look at it.

I remember being struck by how little strength Germany had in his face when I first saw these. He has kind of a square jaw but I always remembered him with more powerful features I guess? He looks almost pretty in some of those head shots and.....quite a lot like Prussia in the upper left one now that I look at it. Other than nose shape.

This is where Russia first started to look much more "bishie", for lack of a better word. I was kind of shocked when I saw it but not unhappy! This is also where we first got a glimpse of what he would look like without the scarf and looking at it again I notice that he somehow looks a lot different without it. Actually having a neck you can see, even if it's just a sketch beneath the scarf, makes a lot of difference in his appearance. He looks smaller, maybe?

Yes, if only Himaruya could always be that consistent! Sometimes I think he might want to be but lately he was trying to churn things out really fast for us with the rapid-fire updates. I just hope he's been doodling a few things in his spare time while he's been gone and will upload some amazing stuff when he returns! If he returns....

Yup! It needs a sharp angle and a slight curve to the eyelid to make it attractive. Flat ___ lines don't look appealing at all with ___eye brows. It makes the face/eyes look too 2D. Prussia + Germany looks best with sharper features.

And same! I remember being very thrown when I saw this. He looks very delicate in these, but I think Himaruya wanted to show how really young he was. I'm sure these have a translated version somewhere. But I think there's a tidbit where Germany is modeled off the standard German propaganda youth...fresh faced or something!

Where Germany is youthful, Russia and England are supposed to be very baby-faced, like childish round features. Without the scarf his face looks longer so he looks older is what I think is going on, but Himaruya also doesn't know how to draw full frontal jawlines well, the side views are where we get any hints of a facial structure. So he looks different a lot of the times, because he's drawn totally different @-@ On the bottom left, his cheek is drawn too sharply, he looks super thin and almost guant in the face.. but I can kinda tell what he's going for??? Sorta... It's all up to headcanon too which is something i kinda like too...


AND I KNOWOWWW RIGGHTT. H-He at least draws denmark really consistently i noticed. I think he will return but I hope he stops doing longer events and just focuses on doing small things. He obviously had more fun with the doodles and the nordic strip than he did the event, stupid guyyy. Fingers crossed for a fast return.

But lmaoo he does, he looks like a little crazy-faced lizard man it drives me nuts. I dont even really consider Prussia a sexy-beast?? in the end and canon art is not. helping... He looks dorky as hell. Himaruya just needs to work on it and maybe Prussia can get a miracle?? Maybe???
