part 347 dimensions of sight and sound

and of mind. Do do do do do do do do do do do.

How was your end-of-December-into-January time, meme? Did you make any New Year's resolutions? Or light a candle in your window in the hopes that Himaruya would update again instead of leaving us behind like an 19th century light house keeper's wife whose husband has gone off to sea? ... Did you?

Enjoy part 347!

The Hetalia fandom in 2009-2011 was extremely active tbh. I remember a lot of communities on Livejournal then. Now the place is so dead...boo.

I don't want to be That Guy, but imo, the internet is changing for the worse.

How so exactly? Curious.

I wish I could answer this in the way I want to but I'm not that insightful and eloquent. I'm too embarrassed and I can't put it into words right on the spot. I'm sorry, anon. But if you have anything to say about it, feel free to post it. :)

Original creativity is gone, everyone seems to have an ulterior real life motive, communities are far flung and no longer connected and it's become a focus on the shallow, bright and catchy instead of the depth and discussion that it had before.

And since the kids today are growing up with the internet EVERYWHERE, faster and easier to use, with tablets and mobile phones, the people I've come across are younger and younger... and exposed to the most bizarre, fucked up shit. That's not purely fandom-related, but it's mostly in fandoms that it happens. There's just so much that, to me, does not bode well.

I think we are one egregious incident away from a massive lawsuit, and possibly someone going to jail.

I agree.

NAYRT, but I've also noticed this trend, and my two cents:

It's because everything's speeding up. People have shorter attention spans. Tumblr reflects this -- a whole series of new things scrolling quickly by, whereas on LJ it's easier to make (and read!) a whole post. The archiving system on LJ is better as well../
