part 347 dimensions of sight and sound
and of mind. Do do do do do do do do do do do.
How was your end-of-December-into-January time, meme? Did you make any New Year's resolutions? Or light a candle in your window in the hopes that Himaruya would update again instead of leaving us behind like an 19th century light house keeper's wife whose husband has gone off to sea? ... Did you?
Enjoy part 347!

Favorite mangakas

(Anonymous) 2014-01-25 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)Naoki Urasawa is the only one whose works I have never been disappointed by and whose stuff I like so much that I want to read it all. The only problem is that his manga makes me feel such intense emotions that I can only bear to read a little bit at a time, so it's a slow process. He's just too good at making me love minor characters and then I'm always devastated if something tragic happens to them.
Other than that, the only person on my "must buy everything" list is Rihito Takarai, but that's more because I like slow, slice of life BL rather than because I think she's absolutely brilliant. That kind of BL doesn't get licensed nearly enough.
+1 on Naoki Urasawa

(Anonymous) 2014-01-25 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)I also like Yana Toboso of Kuroshitsuji for the art, even if I don't follow the manga much anymore these days.
Story and plot-wise, I like Aoyama Gosho of Detective Conan, Higuchi Asa of Ookiku Furikabutte and Yellow Tanabe of Kekkaishi.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-25 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)Yuusuke Murata, is just. ridiculous. didn't read eyeshield 21, but from what I've seen in Onepunch-man, he's absurdly good.
Hiromu Arakawa, I really like the themes she tackles, and she writes nice, fleshed-out characters
Hoshino Katsura, I really liked her early and later styles
Akiko Higashimura, pacing and decompression, characters
Asano Inio, good pace,insanely detailed
Takako Shimura, good pacing and characters

(Anonymous) 2014-01-25 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)CLAMP and Naoko Takeuchi should be self explanatory. Arina Tanemura - her characters are extremely sameface, especially her main characters, but her art detail in general is gorgeous. I really prefer to read her manga with the books in my hands than read them online just to see all the detail.
