{A birthday party on the beach? Might as well snatch some sun-screen before getting too terribly brunt...}

{Kind of just, loiters around on the sands, dressed in a jacket and some swim trunks. Don't mind him, he's trying to muster the courage to be sociable.}

[Spies Latvia loitering nearby. And immediately goes over and tries to pulls him over to the grill.]

C'mon, don't be shy now! Got beer over there too!

[Let the free alcohol tempt you over.]

{Oh no, Australia's coming his way and... wait, he's supposed to be sociable remember? Besides he couldn't loiter about all day.}

H-Hello... I- {Well, he's shuffled over to the grill and boy does that smell delicious. And free beer?}

Thanks? I-I mean, Happy Birthday! {Chuckles nervously because he feels as though he just messed it up big time.}

Hello to ya too! Here, have a stubbie.

[Puts a can of beer into his hands before he can object.]

Ta! Nice of ya to come all the way too! Is that - oi, think some of the burgers are burning.

[Drags him over as he checks on those too no time to let Latvia wander off!]

{A can of beer's shoved into his hands and really, who couldn't say no a free beer? ~~Even though it looks like Australia's just given a minor alcohol... no really, he's older than he looks!~~}

{Is shuffled again over to whenever the older man's going. They don't look burnt to him. Oh don't worry, he can't squeeze himself free from those beefy arms...}

I-I uh, got you a present as well... {Wiggling a bit.}

[He's pretty sure those laws only apply to actual physical minors, so he should be okay! If anyone asks he'll just say Latvia got it himself, that should do it.]

[Pokes the burgers just to make sure but Latvia's right, they look fine. He lets go of him as he turns them over anyway, but don't be getting any ideas about hiding now.]

Oh? Ya didn't have to, but thank ya!

[Turns some of the sausages over while he's at it too before putting the tongs down and looking at Latvia.]

{Well that's good, he doesn't want Australia to get arrested on his birthday. That would be terrible!}

{Slips out of his arm when the other lets go of him, wobbling a bit on his feet. Shaking his head he steps back a bit.}

But it's a nice thing to do and... and... {Starts patting himself down and then the realisation hits him; he doesn't have the present with him!}

I-! {Chuckles nervously. Well isn't this embarrassing?}

I think I left something in my uh... I'll be right back! {Darts off before the Australian could snatch him again.}

[If it did happen, it wouldn't be the first time he's been arrested on his birthday so no reason to be too concerned!]

Oh, no doubt 'bout it but still thoughtful of ya...

[Watches Latvia pat himself down and comes to the same realisation as he does.]

Happens to the best of us! Or worse in my case. If ya gone too long, I'll drink all the beer!

[That's all the warning Latvia's going to get before he charges off.]

{How could he be so careless? Face red, he comes back several minutes later out of breath and carrying a finely wrapped box. It turns out he left it in one of the changing tents! What luck that no one decided to steal it as well.}

Here... here you are. I hope you find this all right.

{It's not really one present but a mix of things he thought the Australian would like.}

[One day he is going to teach Latvia to relax a little and he will enjoy it. He'll save that life lesson for another day though, since it's his birthday today.]

Nice job on wrapping it!

[He can never get the corners that neat when he wraps presents, so he admires that for a moment before he tears it open and has a look inside. They're unexpected but not in a bad way and they make him smile. It's had thought put into it, that's always nice.]

[Carefully puts the presents in with the other ones, being careful to make sure none of them get lost. He'll have some of that wine later.]

{He would certainly thank you for that lesson. The poor boy's too high-strung for his age.}

Thank you, it's not that hard actually. {Scratches the back of his head with a laugh.}

{Twiddles his fingers when the brunet goes and unwraps his gift. Smiles even more when seeing Australia's reaction. He likes it! He actually likes it!}

Yes, please? {He is feeling quite famish now, and a burger or two wouldn't be too bad.}

[And he's probably too relaxed sometimes, but it all works out in the end, no worries.]

[He's always pleased with gifts especially booze but it's not like it's the reason he does this party after all, and these were nice ones.]

Right then!

[Flips two burgers into buns, puts cheese, bacon, pineapple, beetroot, tomato and lettuce on them - it's traditional after all - and passes them over on a plate in a flash. He's had plenty of practice the last few months!]

{He's definitely not going to see him on the television later arrested for drunken mischief, right?}

{Is a bit taken back by how much Australia stacked on his burgers. All this for him? One alone could probably feed a whole family!}

Thank you! {Still, it looks scrumptious and he looks for a place to sit down.}

[No promises but he should be okay as long as he doesn't pick any fights!]

[That seems normal enough for him. Plus beets! Everyone likes beets!]

[Well, more than a second but he needs to check the rest of the meat and make himself something before he can sit down. Not that he minds but he's been running around all day and a quick breather would be nice.]

{Well let's hope it doesn't come to that!}

{Not really? He's not that found of beets to be honest. Now, squash on the other hand... - }

Oh, okay. {He finally finds a spot underneath an umbrella that was already opened. It's nice and shady, ~~so there's no possibility for him to get sunburned~~ plenty of room too.}

[He eats squash too! He eats nearly everything though.]

[While Latvia finds a spot he plates himself up a burger or two before he heads over to under the parasol. It's a lot cooler than it is in the sun and he lets out a sigh of relief, even if he is used to the hot weather.]

[With that he starts eating too, having one of his rare quieter moments. Not that quiet, however, because after looking at the ocean for a bit, he thinks of something.]

Make sure ya go swimming too later, it'll cool ya off.

[Nothing deep but he wanted to share.]

{He scoots a bit over so that the larger man could slip underneath the umbrella his well, giggling when hearing that sigh rumble out from Australia's chest.}

Ah, maizīti! {Starts to chow down as well. He might one to take back that comment about the beets because they certainly go well wit these burgers.}

Is it... safe to swim? {He faintly remembers something about jellyfish and it would be awful if he got stung.}

[He once won the burger contest at America's birthday with that combination, he knows he's onto a winner with it.]

Oh yeah, just gotta keep an eye out if ya worried. Don't bleed in the water or bother any jellyfish and ya'll be fine.

[And if not...well, they're nations so he'll be okay later, even if it hurts at the time.]

{Nods accordingly to the brunet's advice, sipping on his beer before setting it aside again. He just wanted to be cautious that's all.}

How old are you now? {It's not a specific question, but time needs to be killed. That and he's curious as well.}
